I was rear-ended in an accident and couldn't go back to work. I injured my neck and shoulder to the extent that I can't use my shoulder anymore. After reaching out to Gowland Boriss I felt very confident. I felt like things were going to get resolved. I felt confident in their abilities and had no worries. The receptionist right through to Maggie and Robert were always very personable. They treated me nicely and respectfully. Robert is a soft-spoken man. He spoke in a way that allowed me to understand everything. He was very clear and concise. He was always open and honest with everything. They're not going to lie to you and say, "We can do this for you. Or we can do that for you." They were always upfront and honest. They're very forthcoming. I felt very comfortable with Robert. He's very intelligent, and he knew what to do and how to do it. The firm can handle themselves quite well. In any environment, whether in court or negotiations. They always kept me informed with critical info. They did everything they could for me. They didn't view me as a number. They treated me like a person. I never felt ignored. I could have small-talk with them. It was that small-town feeling. They got me a nice settlement, and I was very, very happy with the outcome. They're good people at Gowland Boriss. Very competent. They worked hard for me, and It was well worth it. I highly recommend them.

I had a slip and fall and then a serious assault which caused serious damage. To this date, I can only move the thumb and index finger on my right hand. Mr. Becker is by far one of the best lawyers I've ever dealt with. He's laid back and also very understanding. He's very, very knowledgeable and he steps up and takes charge. I appreciate it so much because he knows what I've been through and he understands what I've gone through. I trust him. I trust him like I trust a family member. There's a certain feeling when you go into their office. There's a calmness about it. They don't work for what they can gain off of it. They did a wonderful job and Mr. Becker got exactly what he was aiming for. This is the man you want. He's the one that's going to stand in your corner and he's going to fight like hell for you.

I liked Robert right away and I warmed to him right away. I just felt that he listened very well. He didn't make me feel inconsequential, uneducated, unintelligent. You were not a number. Not a potential paycheque. The whole experience was positive, and I really had a good feeling about his integrity. After the first or second meeting, I just thought I'm doing this, this is my guy. I don't have a moment's regret about the whole process. I just felt that it was handled the way it should be. I thought he was genuine. I think I'm pretty good at picking up on that. He was willing to go the extra mile. I'm very pleased and thankful for everything that's happened. It's helped me for sure. I'm happy with what the outcome was, and it's certainly made a big difference in my life. Nobody was more skeptical because I've had bad experiences. I found the process to be relatively painless. I felt really comfortable with him. I would highly recommend them over anybody because they'd be crazy to go somewhere else.

I was hit head-on. It took them about an hour for them to get me out of the car. The car had to be cut apart and I was airlifted to Sunnybrook in Toronto. They had my best interest at heart. They'll look after you. Anything you need or want they're always there. They'll go out of their way to accommodate. I didn't have to go through the insurance company, Maggie looked after that. The whole experience was so good. They always told you what was going to happen next. They are always there to help no matter what it is. They've treated us amazingly. Anything we need or want. I would recommend them, it would be a 10. They're good people.

A truck shot out of the parking lot right into the front end of my car. He totaled my SUV. They did all kinds of tests and everything at the hospital, x-rays, ultrasounds, you name it and that's when they determined I'd broken my neck. I had the neck brace on for five months. A car ran a stop sign and broadsided me while riding my motorcycle. I was in the hospital for a while and had to go back numerous times. They were so good at making sure that everything was being covered. Any time I was having problems Maggie would step in and phone the insurance company to take care of everything. They followed through right to the end and they still check in. They held my hand the whole way and kept me sane. It felt like I was a part of the family. The staff couldn‘t be more friendly. They’re very personable. It’s like talking with your sister or brother. I have recommended them to many, many people because you won’t find a better firm. I‘m astounded of how hard they work for their clients and surprised by how fast they got a settlement. I can’t say enough about them.

After the accident, I had picked another firm but as the claim got more complexed, they referred me to David. Best decision ever. I was quite comfortable with the whole process. The best thing about working with the firm is that they were personable. We picture lawyers as being disinterested and treating you like a number. I didn’t find that here. It was a very personalized and tailored experience. They got to know who I was as a person, and everyone at the office dealt with me very well. They kept me in the loop and took the time to explain things. They also did a good job of comforting me and making sure I wasn’t anxious while going through a stressful situation. They wanted to make sure I was doing okay with it all. I felt like they went the extra mile, which meant a lot to me. They worked fairly well independently, which is good because I expressed that I didn’t want to be involved in a lot of it. They were good at being self-sufficient and only approached me for things that I needed to be a part of. They were open and explained things quite well, which allowed me to make good decisions.

When I spoke with Amy and she was so warm and welcoming, I knew I had the right person. For the times I had to speak to Amy and the other girls, they either were available right away or responded the same day.

They were very helpful with anything and everything I needed. If I had a question, someone would answer. There was no answering machine - you always got to talk to someone. They would come to the house when I couldn't get out to see them. It was easy. I would recommend Gowland, Boriss to everyone .
