I needed to file for divorce, and when my lawyer moved to the Family Law Group, I decided to stick with her. My case was unique since I live in the U.S., but they handled it well. Dayna took over, and I immediately noticed her efficiency and clarity. She was quick on the phone, straight to the point, and always respected my time. I felt confident and relieved; she eased my concerns. With Dayna's help, we got what we wanted, which was shared custody. This has allowed me to move on. I'd gladly refer them to others because of Dayna's professionalism and how they handled my specific needs.

I needed help with decision-making and custody of my son. After researching, I picked the Family Law Group because they seemed like a good fit who could focus on mediation before heading to court. Caroline was easy to talk to and listened to my story. She respected my wish not to take our case to court initially, although that changed. The retainer was simple, communication was good, and responses were quick. The entire experience was smooth, from signing documents over Zoom while travelling to receiving clear billing information via email. Caroline booked an uncontested trial early, which saved time since my son's father didn't participate. Ultimately, I got the outcome I hoped for, full decision-making ability and custody. This means I can travel with my son without worries. While the process was stressful, the firm helped ease the tension. If you want a lawyer who listens and answers your questions, I completely recommend the Family Law Group. They're there for you, taking the necessary steps to get the outcome you need.

I worked with the Family Law Group, and I gotta say, my experience was way better than I expected. After a rough time with my past lawyer, I was hesitant to get legal help again, but I'm grateful I did. My nephew recommended the firm, and I'm glad I trusted his advice and the online reviews that were all very positive. From my first contact, I felt welcomed and comfortable. They were upfront about their fees and what to expect, which was a huge relief given the stress I was under. When I first met Kaila Meddoui, I knew l'd made the right choice. Her kind and patient attitude helped ease a tough situation. She took the time to understand what I wanted and was patient and empathetic throughout. Kaila was fast and accurate, keeping me in the loop with every step through phone calls and emails-nothing moved forward without my say-so. That meant a lot, considering how tricky and emotional family law cases can be. Despite my past, which left me a bit shaken, the team was always there, offering support and taking charge of what needed to be done. The retainer process was explained thoroughly, with written documents making everything clear. It worked within my budget, which was another concern since my house hadn't sold yet. Kaila even reassured me to refocus on myself during a particularly tight financial phase, showing they cared about more than just billing hours. The Family Law Group exceeded my expectations, especially Kaila. She had a genuine personality, and I always felt she had my best interests at heart. If you're looking for a law firm that values you as a person and not just a case number, l'd suggest giving them a try. They helped me close a difficult chapter in my life, and I couldn't be more grateful.

I worked with the Family Law Group and my lawyer, Kaila Meddoui, to handle my separation, and I wanted to share my experience. The entire team, especially Kaila, was super helpful in guiding me through what was easily one of the toughest things I've had to do. From the get-go, Kaila always made sure I knew what was happening and what to expect next. Honestly, knowing that I had someone in my corner who knew their stuff took a lot of pressure off. Kaila was always quick to respond, even if she was tied up in court. One thing that stood out was her patience and understanding. Kaila and the team were incredibly supportive, not just in terms of legal advice but also in just understanding my situation. It felt like they were genuinely in my corner, which is not something you get everywhere. If I had to point out a couple of things, it'd be the friendly atmosphere and Kaila's approachable personality. She was great at breaking down complex legal jargon into something I could wrap my head around, which was super helpful. In the end, I felt like the deal I got was fair, even better than I expected. Kaila fought for what was best for me, not just what I thought I should settle for. So, if you're thinking about working with the Family Law Group, I'd say you're in good hands. They deliver solid service and show a lot of heart in the process.

I worked with the Family Law Group during my separation, and overall, I'd say it was a positive experience. Caitlin Reid was my lawyer, and from our first meeting, she struck me as down-to-earth and straightforward. She didn't sugarcoat anything, and that's something I genuinely appreciated. The initial contact with the firm was smooth; the receptionist and staff seemed to remember me and were always prepared. Caitlin's admin assistant, Julie, kept me in the loop about every little detail, which was reassuring. They even gave me a heads-up if they hadn't heard back from the other lawyer when expected which was a nice touch. Caitlin herself was efficient and compassionate. I felt she knew her stuff, especially when it came to the complexities of pension matters, which was a big part of my case. She was young but competent, and I never once doubted her ability to handle things. She gave realistic advice, pointing out what could work against or in my favour without any drama or false promises. One thing that stood out was Caitlin's honest approach to billing. She even got junior staff involved for research to keep costs down, which was considerate. The cost was more than initially expected but there were complicated matters that took time and resources to address. At no time did I feel that work was unnecessary. If you're on the fence about choosing the Family Law Group, I'd say go for it. They were organized, and I never felt like I was just another client. With Caitlin, what you see is what you get—direct, knowledgeable, and friendly without being overly formal. Overall, they made a hard process easier.

I recently had the opportunity to work with the Family Law Group, and finding them was like stumbling onto a gold mine amidst a sea of endless phone calls. I'd been going through a pretty stressful breakup, and my ex was merciless. I felt like I was drowning in stress, trying to find a lawyer who could help. After being let down by several other offices, a recommendation from a helpful lady at my bank led me to this firm. I was blown away from the start with the Family Law Group. Unlike others, they actually answered their phone and were incredibly polite and helpful. It felt like I'd finally found people who were willing to listen. Dayna McNair became my lawyer, and even in our first consultation, she was straightforward. She didn't sugarcoat things, which was something I really appreciated. She laid out what needed to be done and what wasn't necessary, which made the chaos a bit more manageable. When it came to signing the retainer agreement, they kept everything clear and even worked with me through a tight financial spot, which showed they actually cared about my situation. The whole process of dealing with them was surprisingly simple. I could send emails even on a Sunday night and get a response by morning. Dayna would set up calls when significant decisions were needed, ensuring everything was clear. Dayna, along with her support staff, made everything feel a little less overwhelming. Her professionalism was unwavering, even when dealing with my self-representing ex. There was no childishness, just clear, effective communication. That attitude made me feel like I was in capable hands. As for the outcome, it wasn't exactly what I'd hoped, but Dayna kept it real from the get-go — weighing the costs against potential savings, which pointed out the practicality of her advice. In the end, I walked away relieved, feeling like a massive weight had been lifted off my shoulders. To anyone considering their services, I'd say go for it. While no one loves paying legal fees, theirs are reasonable, and the peace of mind they provided me was priceless. I've already recommended them to a few friends.

I worked with the Family Law Group to address a challenging child custody arrangement. A family member recommended that I contact Brenda Barr and her team. It was a solid decision. Brenda made a great impression with her thorough and reassuring approach. The team was professional, responsive, and incredibly organized. This helped ease the stress of the situation. Despite handling most interactions via phone and email, I always felt in capable hands. The quality of their communication impressed me. Their emails were clear, and they responded quickly to any questions I had. The support staff, including Lauren, Corinna, and Wendy, were helpful and friendly, ensuring everything went smoothly. Although the process was expensive, the stakes justified the cost. The most important aspect was the outcome. My son's well-being improved significantly, and the resolution we reached was exactly what was needed. Knowing my son is now in a happier, healthier environment brings a relief that I can't quite put into words. The journey was long and sometimes frustrating, but the Family Law Group provided the expertise and dedication my son and I needed. If you're in a similarly tough spot with a family law matter, I'd recommend giving them a call.

During the COVID lockdown, I faced a challenging family law issue and ended up connecting with the Family Law Group, thanks to a recommendation from my mom's neighbour. From the first contact, my experience was fantastic, especially with Kaila, the lawyer who helped me. I was dealing with an ex who wasn't paying child support and needed something formal to resolve it. Kaila was incredibly kind and genuinely cared about my situation. It's rare to find someone in her field who understands on a personal level rather than just treating it as another job. She explained everything in simple terms and provided clear, easy-to-follow guidance. The entire team at the firm was exceptionally professional. Anytime I interacted with the support staff, whether through emails or calls, they were pleasant and quick to respond. They kept me informed and answered any questions promptly, which I greatly appreciated during such a stressful time. What impressed me most about Kaila was how she balanced kindness with assertiveness. She didn't hesitate to provide a reality check when needed and offered critical guidance without sugar-coating things. The entire process took about four years, mainly due to complications on my ex’s end, but Kaila and her team stuck with it and got me the outcome I needed. In the end, having everything legally settled gave me immense peace of mind regarding child support and custody arrangements. While it wasn't cheap, I firmly believe the quality of service and dedication I received from the Family Law Group, especially from Kaila, was worth every cent. If you’re looking for a knowledgeable, compassionate, and proficient family lawyer, I’d strongly recommend giving them a call.

I was in a challenging situation when I separated from my partner, and he wasn't paying child support. We didn't have a formal agreement in place, and with COVID and lockdowns complicating everything, I decided it was time to get some legal structure. It was incredibly frustrating, both emotionally and logistically, not knowing where I stood or what his obligations were. My mom's neighbour, who's also a lawyer but not in family law, recommended the Family Law Group. She'd heard good things about them, and I'd known someone else who had a positive experience with the firm, so I figured I'd give them a call. The first person I spoke to on the phone was very kind. They quickly matched me with Kaila, and from our first consultation, I felt a bit more at ease. She was personable and genuinely seemed to care about the issue I was facing. It wasn't just about the legalities; she made me feel heard and understood, which was huge, especially given how stressful the situation was. The process of retaining Kaila was straightforward. She laid out her rates clearly, which I appreciated. No surprises, just straight talk. What I found particularly impressive was the firm's professionalism. Everyone I dealt with, from the admin staff to Wendy on the accounting side, was pleasant and efficient. They were always prompt in their responses and clear with their explanations. Kaila was a great blend of kindness and tenacity. She knew her stuff and wasn't afraid to tell me straight up if what I was asking for was unrealistic or out of step with current court trends. Her guidance was priceless. She kept things on track and focused, and never did I feel like she was dragging things out to rack up billable hours, which sadly seems to be a common concern with some lawyers. Communication was another strong point. Every email was acknowledged, and every question answered quickly. If Kaila wasn't available, her team would either help or let me know when she'd get back to me. It felt seamless and efficient, which alleviated a lot of stress on my end. In terms of results, it was a long road—about four years in total—but that had more to do with my ex dragging things out than anything on our side. Ultimately, I got exactly what I was asking for: a legally formalized custody and child support agreement. It was a massive weight off my shoulders, knowing I had legal recourse if my ex didn't keep up his end of the bargain. I'd say if you're on the fence about which firm to go with, you can't go wrong with the Family Law Group. Kaila, especially, is not just a fantastic lawyer but a genuinely caring person who knows how to balance legal rigour with empathy. The whole team there backs each other up, making the process as stress-free as possible given the circumstances. They may not be the cheapest around, but as the saying goes, you get what you pay for, and with them, you get quality and peace of mind.

I used the Family Law Group for a separation agreement and was paired with Dayna. I found them through Google reviews, which I'm big on, and I have to say, it was a solid choice. This was my first legal experience, and I didn't know what to expect, especially since I was just recovering from brain surgery at the time. Dayna was a lifesaver. She took charge when my spouse's lawyer dropped the ball, getting our agreement drafted and finalized quickly. Her responsiveness was next-level — she usually got back to me within an hour, even during the holiday season. One time, she managed to finalize an agreement just before Christmas, which was a huge relief for me given the stressful timing. She was detailed and straightforward, which made the whole confusing process a lot more manageable. Even when there were issues due to his lawyer's lack of response, Dayna stepped in and handled it all. Dayna was also compassionate, especially knowing I was dealing with not just the separation but also the aftermath of brain surgery and raising a stepdaughter I could no longer see. She even took the time to communicate with my family, which was a big help since I was struggling to articulate myself properly at the time. Overall, the Family Law Group was professional and efficient, giving me peace of mind during a chaotic period. The transparency with their billing was appreciated too, and I even got a refund at the end, which was a nice surprise. I would recommend them to anyone needing legal assistance in family matters. They made a tough time a bit easier, and I couldn't ask for more.

Finding a reliable lawyer is honestly one of the most stressful tasks, especially when you're already dealing with an incredibly difficult family situation. My journey with the Family Law Group began during a rough patch, but I couldn't have asked for better support. So, my ex made these wild, false accusations, which left me worried sick about losing my kids. I had already had a bad experience with another law firm that pretty much told me to keep babying my ex-husband, which was just ridiculous. When things got worse, I knew I had to find someone new. Hoping for better luck, I Googled lawyers nearby and found the Family Law Group, which had great reviews and was conveniently close to home. When I first reached out to them, it was pretty smooth sailing. I set up a consultation with Kaila, and she was an absolute godsend. We chatted for over an hour and she was very clear about what my rights were. She didn't sugarcoat anything and was honest about what parts of my case had substance and which ones the judge wouldn't even look at. That sort of honesty? A breath of fresh air. Signing the retainer was straightforward, too. They were good about not letting costs spiral out of control and I knew exactly what to expect. I never felt blindsided by any bills, which is a huge relief when dealing with legal matters. Kaila was bubbly and upbeat but knew when to be fiercely professional, especially in court. Her calm demeanour helped me stay grounded during some pretty stressful moments. Also, getting quick responses from the support staff, even when Kaila was unavailable, showed their dedication. Kaila's determination and straightforwardness stood out the most. She didn't let my ex push us around and always made me feel like I was in capable hands. The entire process was easier than I had feared. Their promptness in handling my case meant I could focus on other things, like taking care of my kids and moving forward with my life. In the end, we managed to achieve joint custody and I got sole decision-making authority over my youngest daughter, which brought immense peace of mind. Knowing she'll have all her medical and dental needs met is a big load off my shoulders. Financially, it was a struggle, but with support from my mother-in-law, we made it through, and now we've settled into a new home. For anyone on the fence about hiring the Family Law Group, my advice would be to go for it. They'll treat you with respect, give you honest advice, and work tirelessly for your case.

I recently worked with the Family Law Group and had a positive experience overall, especially with Brenda Barr. I initially approached them because I needed to move my family law case from Mississauga to London after relocating. My experiences with previous lawyers weren't great, and I even had to represent myself briefly to get the case moved. But once it was in London, Brenda stepped in to help. To say Brenda knows her stuff is an understatement. She handles everything with a calm demeanour and manages to simplify complex legal jargon so you can actually understand what’s happening. Anyone who’s been through family law cases knows how stressful they can be, and Brenda has a way of putting you at ease. She’s realistic and clear about what to expect and helps to set fair expectations. What stood out most was her performance in court. She’s always well-prepared and doesn’t let the opposition get away with anything. You can tell she’s respected by judges and other legal professionals, which is reassuring when you're in the thick of it. The whole team at Family Law Group made me feel comfortable from the get-go. From the receptionists to the junior associates, everyone was friendly and human, something that is often lacking in legal environments. Their communication was spot-on, with clear, timely emails and follow-ups that always kept me in the loop. One thing to be aware of is the costs can add up, but I felt Brenda and her team were transparent and fair about it. They handle invoicing in a decent way—not overly pushy but making sure you’re aware of where you stand financially. If you're in a tough spot and need a reliable family law firm, the Family Law Group is worth considering. Brenda’s professionalism, knowledge, and practical honesty made a huge difference in my case.

I recently went through a challenging divorce and decided to hire the Family Law Group in London, Ontario. I initially chose them because they were conveniently located near my workplace. They seemed like a good fit after consulting Google for nearby family law firms. From the start, my experience was positive. I emailed them and quickly received a reply. They assigned me a junior lawyer, which was a preference due to budget constraints. The initial consultation was informative; my lawyer clearly explained the process, potential outcomes, and what to expect as we moved forward with the case. Signing the retainer brought a sense of relief since it felt like at least one part of the battle was sorted. I immediately felt the professionalism of the entire team. My initial lawyer, and later Dayna, were both thorough and candid. They didn't sugarcoat anything but also provided a comprehensive view of all possible scenarios, which helped me prepare mentally. Professionalism was evident in all my interactions with Dayna and the support staff. Dayna demonstrated her expertise by meticulously organizing all communications and evidence. She had everything ready in court, from highlighted emails to detailed records, showcasing her preparedness and diligence. Working with the Family Law Group was a straightforward and hassle-free experience. Dayna or her assistant responded promptly whenever I had questions or needed clarifications, usually within 24 hours. This prompt communication continued throughout the five years they handled my case, making a world of difference in an otherwise stressful situation. Dayna and her team were compassionate, understanding, assertive, and confident in court. Her quiet demeanour was balanced by her strong argumentation skills and her ability to keep calm under pressure, which was reassuring in high-stress moments. The end result of my case was in my favour, which brought significant relief and closure to a long-drawn conflict. Although the process's financial impact and lengthiness were taxing, the Family Law Group made it as bearable as possible. My experience with the Family Law Group was overwhelmingly positive. They were professional, efficient, and compassionate, and their expertise ensured a favourable outcome. If anyone is looking for a reliable family law firm, I highly recommend the Family Law Group for their dedication and thoroughness.

When I was embroiled in a stressful and complicated family law situation after moving from Mississauga to London, Ontario, I knew I needed expert legal representation. My previous lawyer out of Toronto was not only ineffective but made a bad situation worse. Through a friend's referral, I was introduced to Brenda Barr at Family Law Group, who was highly recommended as London's best family lawyer. My first interaction with the firm immediately put me at ease. Despite initially consulting Brenda for my case in Toronto and realizing it was out of her jurisdiction, she provided practical guidance and a level of compassion that convinced me she was the right choice once my case transferred to London. From the receptionist to the support staff and even the person managing accounts, every Family Law Group team member was professional, approachable, and genuinely caring. During our first meeting, Brenda's calm and relatable communication style, devoid of legal jargon, was incredibly reassuring. She took the time to fully understand my case, provided realistic and helpful advice, and laid out clear expectations. Her thoroughness was apparent from the start, and I left feeling more informed and significantly less anxious. While never a delightful experience, the retainer process was handled professionally. The firm maintained transparency about costs and ensured I knew what to expect. Wendy from accounts was always polite and understanding when discussing payments, which was a refreshing change from other firms that can be quite pushy. Brenda's professionalism shone through in court as well. She was meticulously prepared and had a solid grasp of all aspects of my case. Her reputation in London as a well-respected lawyer gave me additional confidence. Brenda's ability to stay cool under pressure and refusal to let people exploit the situation was incredibly reassuring. She set realistic expectations while fighting vigorously for the best possible outcome. Communication with the firm was impeccable. Emails were prompt, concise, and informative. I never had to chase for updates or worry about timelines. The team's responsiveness and efficiency meant that I always felt supported and informed throughout the process. Ultimately, Brenda and the Family Law Group helped me navigate a very complex and emotionally draining period. The case was resolved favourably, and while we didn't get everything we aimed for, the outcome was a significant relief. Knowing my children's well-being was secure alleviated much of the stress. My overall experience with the Family Law Group was exemplary. The team was consistently professional, compassionate, and efficient from the first call to the final settlement. I wholeheartedly recommend Brenda and her team to anyone needing family law services.

I hired the Family Law Group for my separation and divorce agreement and had an exceptional experience with their team. Right from the initial contact, they were prompt and transparent, which set a positive tone for the entire process. Kaila, who handled my case, was incredibly easy to talk to. Our first meeting felt more like a conversation than a formal consultation, which put me at ease immediately. She outlined each step of the process in a way that was both clear and comprehensive, ensuring I knew what to expect and what my responsibilities would be. This was crucial for me as I prefer having a clear understanding and plan. Throughout the process, there was never any issue with my billing. Each statement I received accurately reflected our interactions, whether they were phone calls, video calls, or emails. There was no ambiguity, which maintained my trust in their services. Kaila always did what she said she was going to do, and that reliability was key for me. One of the things that stood out the most about Kaila was her non-judgmental approach. Separation and divorce are emotionally taxing, but Kaila never made me feel judged or rushed. She was supportive throughout, helping me feel validated and understood during a tough time. Cost-wise, while all legal services come with a price, Family Law Group did not feel exorbitant given the quality of service provided. They were direct and efficient, avoiding any unnecessary expenses. Thanks to their thorough and no-nonsense approach, the outcome of my case was exactly as I had hoped and requested. Overall, my experience with the Family Law Group was exceptionally positive, and I would recommend them to anyone needing assistance in family law matters.

My son strongly encouraged me to seek legal help when dealing with a separation. I had many worries about whether I would get anything from the separation, but as he kept telling me, it was important to go ahead with it for my future. I did what many of us do to find a lawyer – I turned to the internet. I started calling around different firms and comparing prices. Some rates were just out of my league, but then I came across the Family Law Group. Their rates were much more affordable, and they could get me in immediately, which was a big plus. I didn't even need to read reviews; their prompt and reasonably priced service felt like a good sign. The staff at the Family Law Group were exceptionally polite and helpful. They responded promptly, whether over the phone or via email. My initial consultation was straightforward—they asked relevant questions, assessed my situation, and assured me they could assist. The retainer process was clear and simple. They explained that we needed to maintain a $3,000 retainer, and I felt comfortable after signing the agreement. I knew I was in capable hands from the first day I met my lawyer, Dayna. She exuded confidence and professionalism that put both me and my son at ease. Throughout the experience, I felt we were hitting the right marks, and that counted for everything. Dayna's expertise and the firm's overall professionalism were apparent at every step. They handled all the work efficiently, always maintained communication, and kept me in the loop with any updates. The only delays came from my ex's lawyer, which prolonged the process, but Dayna always reassured me and did everything in her power to keep things moving. In the end, the results could not have been better. I got everything I wanted – monetary settlements from my ex's pensions and a monthly payment. This outcome has significantly improved my future, providing me with the peace of mind that I now have something to rely on when I retire. I couldn't recommend the Family Law Group more highly. Dayna and her team were polite, helpful, and always responsive. They took on the heavy lifting, and the professionalism they demonstrated was top-notch. If anyone finds themselves in need of a family lawyer, I'd suggest they look no further.

When my husband and I decided to separate after a few years, we knew it was time to formalize our agreement, especially for our child's sake. The process was entirely new and nerve-wracking for me, mainly because all I had previously done was a simple will with a friend who happened to be a lawyer. I hadn't dealt with family court lawyers, and hearing my friend's horror stories about his divorce only added to my anxiety. I needed someone who could guide me through this without spiralling into an expensive and emotionally draining ordeal. I started my search by Googling "family lawyers in London, Ontario," and I read through numerous websites and Google reviews. There's always an element of skepticism with online reviews, so I ultimately decided to go with my gut after briefly checking a few options. What drew me to Family Law Group was the immediate and straightforward response. They didn't pressure me into anything but rather suggested an initial meeting to see if we were a good fit. My first interaction was very reassuring. The staff were prompt and professional, creating a sense of trust right from the get-go. When I finally met Kaila, I was pleasantly surprised by how down-to-earth and approachable she was. It felt more like a conversation than a legal consultation, which put me at ease. She genuinely listened to what I wanted to achieve and guided me through my options without pushing her own agenda. The retainer process was streamlined and transparent. After our consultation, they provided a breakdown of expected costs and laid out the steps needed to go forward. They also gave me time to make a decision, keeping everything stress-free. I was especially grateful for their flexibility in payment options and the ability to conduct some meetings via video call, given my distance from the firm. Kaila exemplified professionalism throughout. She was clear about what to expect and always kept me informed about next steps, which aligned perfectly with my need to understand the process. This transparency and predictability made the process much more manageable. Communication with the firm was excellent. Whether it was Kaila, her law clerk, or the accounts manager, Wendy, someone always got back to me promptly, usually within the same day. They never left me hanging. The results were exactly what I was hoping for. Everything was on point, from filing the separation agreement to getting the child support arrangements through. Financially, there were no surprises; the costs stayed within the initial estimates, which eased many of my concerns. Overall, I could not have asked for a better experience in such a difficult time. The Family Law Group, especially Kaila, made a stressful situation much more manageable. They were professional, compassionate, and thorough, which is why I would highly recommend them to anyone needing family law services.

I was in the midst of a very challenging and emotionally charged separation and divorce. There were constant conflicts, lies, and police interventions, which left me feeling confused and unable to process the situation appropriately. My ex-wife was highly vindictive, using our three children as pawns, and I needed a law firm that could navigate these turbulent waters with me. I found the Family Law Group through a simple Google search for family lawyers near me in London, Ontario. After reading several positive reviews, I decided to give them a call. My initial interaction with the firm was with Dan Macdonald. I felt a sense of reassurance and support. The staff, including clerks and paralegals, were incredibly communicative, prompt, and always accommodating, making me confident in my choice. The first consultation with Dan was straightforward and laid-back. He took the time to listen to my story without any pretense, establishing a strong trust foundation between us. Although the retainer process was a financial burden, as expected with legal services, Dan and his team were very understanding and accommodating. Throughout the five years I worked with the Family Law Group, I was continually impressed by their professionalism and thoroughness. Dan's approach was always realistic and practical. He knew what was worth fighting for and what wasn't, saving me unnecessary legal fees and emotional stress. His ability to stay calm and composed, even when I was frustrated, showed his depth of character and integrity. Working with the firm was remarkably easy and straightforward. Despite living in a small town on the outskirts of London, they facilitated communication efficiently. Whether it was through emails, phone calls, or in-person meetings, it was clear that they prioritized my case and well-being. The support staff was always pleasant and helpful, which added to the positive experience. Dan's personality really stood out during our interactions. When my husband and I separated and subsequently divorced, I needed legal representation. It was an incredibly stressful time, not just for me but for my entire family. I found the Family Law Group online while searching for divorce lawyers in London, Ontario. After reading several reviews, I compiled a list of potential firms. My mother and I visited a few different law firms, but it was when we talked to Dayna at the Family Law Group that I felt an immediate sense of comfort and reassurance. Dayna was forthcoming and down-to-earth from our first meeting, explaining the entire process clearly and honestly. Her approach was both compassionate and professional. Dayna was approachable and showed a depth of knowledge during our initial consultation. She thoroughly explained her services, the costs involved, and the retainer process in a straightforward and easy-to-understand way. This transparent communication made my mother and I feel we were in capable hands. Working with the Family Law Group was smooth and efficient. Despite the firm's busy schedule, both Dayna and her assistant, Ashley, were incredibly responsive and timely in their communications. Whenever I emailed, I would hear back within a day, and if it was urgent, they made sure to address it as soon as possible, even patching me directly if needed. This level of responsiveness allowed me to focus on my family without constantly worrying about the legal process. Dayna's bubbly and empathetic personality made a world of difference during such a tough period. She and Ashley showed compassion and professionalism, never making me feel that my questions were trivial. Dayna offered practical advice and personalized support, always validating my concerns, which created a sense of trust. Her genuine care for my situation was obvious, and she went above and beyond to ensure affordability by suggesting ways to save costs, which was helpful as I shouldered most of the financial burden of this process. The outcome of my case was what I had hoped for: I managed to stay in our family home, thereby providing stability for my children, and we avoided the stress of court proceedings. Dayna's guidance throughout the custody and separation agreements was instrumental in achieving this, even though it required multiple revisions due to my ex's reluctance. Overall, my experience with the Family Law Group was exceptional. Dayna and Ashley's honesty, empathy, and dedication significantly lightened the load of an otherwise overwhelming situation. I felt supported every step of the way. If you're looking for a legal team that genuinely cares about its clients and delivers results, I wholeheartedly recommend the Family Law Group.

When I separated from my husband after being married for many years, I knew I needed legal representation to protect myself financially. With the six-year equalization period in Ontario coming to an end, it was paramount for me to find a skilled family lawyer who could help me navigate this complex process. After searching online and reading reviews, I discovered the Family Law Group. I was impressed by their strong ratings and the fact that they had won awards for being the best family law practice in the area. Their location on the city's edge was also convenient and accessible for me. From my first interaction with the firm, I was treated professionally and respectfully. They promptly responded to my initial inquiry and scheduled a Zoom consultation with Dan, one of their lawyers, within a few days. During the consultation, Dan was thorough and detail-oriented and clearly explained the legal process and what I could expect moving forward. He asked pertinent questions about my financial situation and gave me a list of documents I needed to gather. Signing the contract with Family Law Group gave me confidence that I had made the right decision. Dan's expertise and the firm's organized approach put my mind at ease during a stressful time. Throughout the process, Dan was responsive, typically replying to my emails within a day. He was patient and understanding, even when my ex-husband caused delays by not responding to proposals. Working with Family Law Group was straightforward despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. I appreciated being able to scan and email documents easily from home. Dan's calm demeanour and reassurance that we would get the job done helped alleviate my stress. I never felt like the firm was trying to prolong the case unnecessarily; instead, they were focused on achieving a resolution efficiently. In the end, I obtained a financial separation agreement and was able to move forward with my life. Dan's guidance allowed me to purchase a new home and gain a sense of closure. Although the process was sometimes frustrating, particularly when waiting for my ex-husband to cooperate, Dan remained professional and persistent in pushing the case forward. I would highly recommend Family Law Group to anyone needing a family lawyer. Their expertise, professionalism, and commitment to their clients' best interests were evident throughout my experience. When my husband unexpectedly announced he wanted a divorce and presented me with a so-called "divorce proposal," I was in shock. Knowing I desperately needed excellent legal help, I reached out to a retired judge, my neighbour. He consulted with two lawyers who both recommended Lisa Walters from the Family Law Group. I immediately looked up the firm online and called them, feeling confident in their expertise as a dedicated family law practice. I felt welcomed and in good hands from my first interaction with the firm. They were professional, friendly, and their on-hold messaging reassured me that they were there to provide the support I needed during this difficult time. The initial consultation with Lisa, although not free, was incredibly valuable. She listened attentively as I summarized my 25-year marriage and provided an overview of the divorce process in Ontario, giving me a clear understanding of what to expect. Signing the retainer agreement brought a sense of peace, knowing I now had a strong advocate on my side. Lisa's advice to remember that while this was all new to me, my husband had likely been planning for some time proved to be spot-on as I later discovered the extent of his preparations. Throughout the two-year process, I always felt I was getting truthful, ethical guidance from Lisa and her team. They told me straight what was legally possible and pushed back against my husband's unreasonable demands and threats. Lisa's law clerks, Liz and Megan, were incredibly supportive, with Liz taking the time to walk me through challenging moments with understanding and care. The firm's communication and responsiveness were excellent, with emails answered the same or next day. Although I would have preferred more in-person meetings to discuss complex financial matters, the team was always available via phone or Zoom when needed. Lisa's expertise and straightforward approach helped me feel empowered and on the right path, even during the most emotionally trying times. While the process was longer and more expensive than anticipated, I knew I was paying for Lisa's knowledge, experience, and reputation. In the end, we reached a settlement in line with what Lisa had initially outlined, and my husband filed for an uncontested divorce. Although the journey was emotionally and financially challenging, I am grateful for the unwavering support and professionalism of the Family Law Group. They had my best interests at heart and provided the legal guidance I needed to move forward. I would recommend them to anyone facing a complex divorce who needs dedicated, knowledgeable advocates in their corner.

When I needed a family law firm due to an impending divorce, I was overwhelmed and unsure of where to turn. After another lawyer recommended the Family Law Group, I decided to give them a call. I was impressed by their responsiveness and willingness to help. Setting up a consultation with Caitlin, one of the firm's lawyers, was straightforward. Shortly after my initial call, I had my first meeting with her. Although I was feeling stressed and overwhelmed, Caitlin took the time to thoroughly explain the legal process and what I could expect moving forward. It was clear that she possessed great expertise and professionalism. Throughout my case, Caitlin and her team demonstrated exceptional competence and attention to detail. When we had to file a motion to sell the marital home, Caitlin's thorough preparation and presentation of the facts impressed even the judge presiding over the case. Her preparedness and skill in the courtroom were truly remarkable. The support staff at the Family Law Group, particularly Julie, Caitlin's law clerk, were also amazing. They were always friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond to any questions or concerns I had. Their communication was top-notch, and I never felt left in the dark about the progress of my case. I have already recommended the Family Law Group to several colleagues. Their professionalism, knowledge, and compassion set them apart, and I am confident that they will provide the same high level of service to anyone who seeks their help.

I've had my fair share of experiences with lawyers due to a previous divorce and real estate transactions, so I've seen the good and the bad. When my second marriage ended, I found myself needing a lawyer for a separation agreement linked to the sale of my house. This was a time of mixed emotions; it was stressful due to the significant changes happening all at once, including my recent retirement and the need to relocate from my home of ten years. Finding the right law firm was critical, especially since time was of the essence with the house sale. I turned to Google and searched for top family law lawyers in London, where I stumbled upon Family Law Group. Recognizing a name, Brenda Barr, a former neighbour and a respected lawyer, immediately gave me confidence in their capabilities. My decision to engage with them was further solidified by their reputation and a bit of word-of-mouth praise. I needed to act fast, and after some research, I chose them without hesitation. My first interaction with the firm was over the phone, setting up a consultation with Dan, who was both knowledgeable and friendly. He helped clarify many aspects of the separation and divorce process, some of which had changed since my last experience. The retainer agreement process was straightforward, and signing it brought me a significant sense of relief. Throughout my dealings with Dan and the staff, their professionalism was present. They were straightforward, advising me wisely on how to handle requests from my ex-wife and suggesting pragmatic solutions to potential issues. The entire process was handled with ease and simplicity, largely over email, which suited me perfectly. The firm took care of nearly everything, only requiring my input on a few suggestions. Dan, in particular, was low-key and straightforward, providing clear and factual advice without sugarcoating the reality. This approach resonated with me, especially during such a rough period. The outcome was exactly what I had hoped for: closure with my ex-wife with minimal conflict and reasonable costs. The advice and representation I received were not only effective but also enabled me to move on positively. I wouldn't change a thing about my experience with the Family Law Group. Their expertise, professionalism, and value were exceptional, earning them a solid ten across all aspects of their service.

Having previously worked with Caitlin from the Family Law Group for a separation agreement, I found myself needing their services again due to a change in my children's living arrangements. They started living with me full-time. This shift required an update to our separation agreement and for my ex-wife to begin contributing financially. Throughout this process, I remained positive and confident despite my ex-wife's reluctance to contribute in any form. Reaching out to the firm again was straightforward, mainly because of my previous positive experience with Caitlin. I felt comfortable returning for her services without the need to revisit reviews or seek alternatives. My consultation echoed my initial experience; Caitlin was professional, setting clear and realistic goals and expectations to avoid unnecessary expenses and potential disappointment. This approach reaffirmed my trust in her handling of the case. The process of updating my financial statements and engaging my uncooperative ex-wife was seamless, thanks to the clear and concise communication from the support staff, especially Julie. Their ability to provide straightforward instructions and expectations made the process smoother and more manageable financially. Caitlin's empathy, honesty, and professionalism made me feel supported and understood. Her ability to manage expectations and realistic approach gave me confidence throughout the legal proceedings. Her performance in court was exceptional. She was attentive and ensured the judge accurately represented and understood our needs and situation. The outcome of our case was significant. It resulted in my ex-wife contributing financially to our children's well-being despite her minimal involvement in their lives. This support is crucial, especially considering the current economic climate, and provides a semblance of assistance with their upbringing. While the financial burden of legal fees was substantial, primarily due to my ex-wife's strategy to increase my expenses by self-representing and submitting incorrect paperwork, the mental strain was manageable, given my familiarity with her tactics. Reflecting on my experience, I see that Caitlin and her team's professionalism, empathy, and efficiency, including Julie, were instrumental in navigating this challenging period. Their clear communication and responsiveness ensured that I was well-informed and prepared for each step of the process. I would not hesitate to recommend Caitlin and the Family Law Group to anyone needing family law services, as their expertise and approach to client care are exceptional. The financial and mental impacts of the case were significant, but the support and results achieved by Caitlin and her team provided a sense of resolution and forward movement for my family.

I found myself in need of legal help due to a separation and being threatened by my ex. My decision was motivated by the stress, anxiety, and doubt I was feeling, particularly regarding the threats I was facing. My mother initially helped me shop around for legal representation. After an unsatisfactory experience with another lawyer, I discovered Caitlin at the Family Law Group. Their reviews significantly influenced my decision to contact them. My first contact with the firm was over the phone for a consultation with Caitlin. She was very descriptive and personal, making me feel comfortable right away. The staff, including the receptionist and Caitlin's assistant, were supportive, helpful, and quick to respond, which added to my overall experience with the firm. Caitlin showed a willingness to work with me, understand my story without judgment, and a non-biased approach. This, combined with their professional handling of the retainer agreement and clear communication, reassured me of my choice. Caitlin's responsiveness and the detailed answers to my questions made the process smoother and less stressful than anticipated. They handled about 90% of the work, requiring only specific documentation from me, which made the process as simple as possible. They even provided clear instructions on obtaining the necessary documents. Their communication was detailed, ensuring no question went unanswered. Ultimately, I achieved the outcome I sought, particularly regarding the time with my son, which was my primary goal. The process took a significant financial and mental toll, but the results justified the expense. What stood out most to me was the personal connection I felt with Caitlin, which made the challenging process more bearable. Her availability and willingness to accommodate my irregular work hours were beyond my expectations. The welcoming and supportive nature of the entire firm also made a significant difference. The experience was not only a professional transaction. It was a personalized journey, and Caitlin and her team navigated it for me. They ensured I was informed, supported, and ultimately satisfied with the outcome.

Before engaging with the Family Law Group, specifically Caitlin, I faced significant challenges in my family law dispute. Initial misinformation and a general lack of support from previous legal counsel had left me with substantial doubts about securing a favourable outcome, especially concerning threats to my desired 50/50 custody arrangement and financial settlements with my ex-partner. My decision to turn to the Family Law Group was influenced by their positive online reviews. It was a clear departure from my experiences with two prior lawyers. The first lawyer's bias and inadequate advocacy, combined with the second's reluctance to proceed to court, underscored the need for a change. Caitlin's approach at the Family Law Group was different. Her readiness to address my needs, including her willingness to go to court, was crucial to my decision. I had personalized and empathetic interactions with Caitlin, which significantly contrasted with my earlier experiences. She not only provided legal advice but also fostered a comfortable and open environment for communication, going so far as to share personal stories, which helped establish a more balanced and supportive client-lawyer relationship. In the end, I got a 50/50 custody agreement for my child. This resolution has drastically improved my quality of life, allowing for more frequent and meaningful interactions with my child. Caitlin's blend of personal empathy and professional assertiveness was instrumental in navigating the complexities of my case, demonstrating the value of a lawyer who not only understands their client's legal needs but also connects with them on a human level.

I retained the Family Law Group, led by Brenda Barr, for a spousal support renegotiation stemming from significant life changes. Having previously utilized their services for my divorce, my familiarity with their processes and confidence in their reputation influenced my decision to return. The legal proceedings, initiated 13 months prior to conclusion, were anticipated to be straightforward given the clear documentation from my divorce settlement regarding substantial life changes. However, the timeline was extended due to delays from the opposition, a common strategy in legal disputes to prolong proceedings. While frustrating, this aspect of the process underscored the adversarial nature of family law and the impact of opposing counsel's tactics rather than reflecting on the Family Law Group's efficiency. Throughout this process, communications were primarily conducted via email and Zoom, accommodating my health considerations. This method of interaction maintained the case's momentum without necessitating physical office visits. The firm's handling of documentation and procedural details showcased a tiered approach, leveraging the expertise of both senior and junior associates. The financial arrangements, including the retainer and billing, were managed transparently, with the firm providing detailed invoices and facilitating payments through convenient methods. The cost, reflective of the firm's expertise and market standing, was justified by the comprehensive service and support provided throughout my case. Brenda Barr's direct and efficient approach significantly contributed to my confidence in the firm's handling of my case. Her professionalism and ability to adapt to changing circumstances were key to navigating the complexities of the renegotiation process. While not entirely as hoped, the case outcome was satisfactory, bringing closure and allowing me to focus on future priorities without ongoing financial uncertainty. This resolution, achieved through the firm's diligent efforts, highlights its ability to manage and conclude complex legal matters effectively.

I had never dealt with lawyers before my experience with the Family Law Group. My need arose unexpectedly due to a divorce, a situation complicated by the presence of a third party in the relationship. During this disorienting time, I found reassurance in Dan's guidance and exceptional handling of my case. I was referred to the firm by a neighbour who had undergone a similar ordeal. Trusting their recommendation, I initiated contact with the firm, which was prompt and professional despite the impersonal nature of our interactions being mediated through phone calls due to COVID-19 restrictions. My first impression of Dan was of a factual and strategic thinker, keen on extracting emotion from the situation to better understand and navigate the complexities of my case. The retainer process was straightforward and transparent, which was reassuring given my lack of prior experience with such matters. The firm's staff were responsive and precise in their communication, which contributed significantly to easing the process for me. Dan's approach was clear, calm, and rational in his communications, setting realistic expectations while being mindful of the emotional and financial toll the process could take. His professional demeanour and the support staff's courteous and respectful interaction made the experience more bearable. The outcome of my case was amicable, with a fair and equitable division of assets and shared custody, which, considering the circumstances, was more than I could have hoped for. The firm's ability to diffuse the hostility and navigate toward a resolution that worked for all parties involved was appreciated. Dan's integrity, professionalism, and expertise were evident. He and the support staff's knowledgeable and understanding approach was essential in navigating the legal system's complexities and achieving a resolution that allowed for a fresh start for all involved. For anyone facing similar challenges and contemplating engaging with the Family Law Group, my advice would be to trust in their expertise and integrity. They are not just navigating legal processes but also understanding and mitigating the emotional and financial impacts of such disputes. Despite the unforeseen challenges, including the pandemic and its personal and financial strains, the firm's professionalism and empathetic approach made a significant difference in my life.

I recently needed legal assistance for a custody issue with my spouse. I was pretty worried about my son's well-being. The possibility of having no say in his life was my greatest fear. I found the Family Law Group online and decided to work with them after a consultation with Kaila, a lawyer at the firm. My first impression of the firm was positive. They were agreeable and friendly, from the receptionist who answered my call to Kaila herself. Kaila's approach was personable; she took the time to understand my life and situation, which I appreciated. The process of signing the retainer was straightforward, and they answered all my questions, making me feel comfortable with the decision. I was confident in their expertise from the beginning, as Kaila confirmed the research I had already done. She set realistic expectations without sugarcoating the potential outcomes, which I found very professional. Working with the firm was simple and efficient. Most of our interactions were through email, and they were always responsive. The team, including Jaclin, handled nearly all the casework, although my anxiety never fully subsided. Kaila's personality was a standout aspect of my experience; she was bubbly and relatable, sharing a common interest in weightlifting. Although I had limited interaction with the support staff, my encounters were generally positive. The results of my case were mixed; while not everything turned out as I had hoped, Kaila had prepared me for this possibility. The outcome was as good as it could have been under the circumstances. The case was stressful and had a significant financial impact. Still, I believe that, given the situation, the expenses were necessary. Kaila made a challenging situation more manageable.

After my breakup and the ensuing complications with my ex-partner, involving a house, debts, and our dogs, I knew I needed legal help. My initial contact with the firm was smooth. The reception was friendly and informative, setting a positive tone for my interactions. My lawyer, Kaila, accommodated my mom to join our consultation. She had a professional yet approachable demeanour, making me feel heard and validated in my concerns. Kaila was exceptional throughout my case. She was knowledgeable, setting clear expectations and expertly navigating the complexities of my situation. Her law clerk, Jaclin, was great also. Their prompt and thorough responses to my numerous questions provided much-needed reassurance. Kaila's professionalism shone, especially in handling aggressive tactics from the opposing side. Despite the high pressure, she remained composed and respectful. Financially, the process was more demanding than anticipated, but I found their billing fair and transparent. The value of their service was evident in the outcome of my case. I retained the house, settled significant financial matters satisfactorily, and, though bittersweet, reached an agreement regarding our dogs. This outcome, I firmly believe, wouldn't have been possible without their guidance. Kaila's personality stood out to me. Her blend of professionalism, attentiveness, and straightforwardness was exactly what I needed. She was patient and understanding, especially during my more stressful moments. Jaclin, too, was a key part of the experience, being responsive and accommodating to my irregular schedule. Their handling of communication was impressive. They addressed each of my concerns without overlooking any details and maintained a prompt, clear dialogue throughout. Though the process was lengthier and more expensive than I had hoped, the result was a significant relief. It allowed me to move forward with my life, free from the entanglements of a difficult breakup. The outcome justified the expense. Emotionally, it was a rollercoaster, but their support made it bearable. If anyone is in a similar situation and considering the Family Law Group, I would wholeheartedly recommend them. You're not only getting legal representation; you're gaining advocates who genuinely care about your well-being and outcome.

I sought the services of the Family Law Group to draft a separation agreement and negotiate a property settlement. I found the firm through a personal referral from a friend and former colleague who works as a clerk at the firm. Given this connection, I didn't feel the need to research further online. My first interaction with the firm was informal and straightforward, facilitated by my friend. When it came to booking my initial appointment, the staff were friendly and accommodating, making the process easy. My first meeting with Dan was in person. He impressed me with his knowledge and his ability to clearly explain the process, next steps, and potential outcomes. The retainer process, which is essentially a contract outlining mutual obligations, was clear, and I was comfortable with it, understanding the process well. I had confidence in the firm's professionalism from the start, largely due to my friend's association with them. Dan was clear about what to expect from the process, including potential uncertainties due to the involvement of opposing parties. The simplicity of my case contributed to the overall ease of the process. The firm was proactive in communication, keeping me updated and consulting me before responding to the opposing lawyer. Questions I had were easily addressed, and the support staff, including Dan and his clerk Carrie, were responsive and efficient. Dan's personality was very easygoing, and he came across as friendly and approachable. The support staff, particularly through their responsiveness, complemented this approach. Communication with the firm was prompt. They ensured I was kept informed about any developments, maintaining a quick response time even for simple updates. The outcome of my case was a fair settlement, aligning with our initial objectives. It was a result I don't believe I could have achieved on my own. This positive and fair conclusion has enabled me to move forward. I would advise anyone considering hiring the Family Law Group to at least have a consult to gauge if there's a good fit. The value of the service, in my opinion, is evident if the personality and goals align. My overall experience with the firm was positive. While I encourage doing one's homework before choosing a firm, a personal reference and my own experience lead me to confidently recommend Dan and the Family Law Group.

I initially sought the services of the Family Law Group during a key moment in my life, as I made the difficult decision to separate from my partner for the well-being of myself and my daughters. My experience with lawyers had been limited, so this was a significant step for me. The firm's proximity to my home and the female representation among its staff were initial draws for me. Dan Macdonald became my primary attorney after my initial contact had to go on maternity leave. Working with Dan was a crucial part of navigating this challenging period. He provided a sense of support and was always available for advice, which was invaluable during several tough situations. The process of dealing with the Family Law Group was straightforward and uncomplicated. From the ease of setting up appointments via email to the quick responses I received to my inquiries, the firm's efficiency was evident. Dan, in particular, was a calming presence. He was factual and grounded, focusing on what was necessary and protecting my interests as well as those of my daughters. I appreciated his approach of looking at the facts and making decisions based on them. A key aspect of Dan's service was his anticipation of needs I hadn't even articulated. For example, he included provisions in our agreement that made future travel with my daughters easier and less stressful. This forward-thinking approach was a testament to his understanding and competence. Throughout the entire process, the staff at the Family Law Group, including Dan's secretary and the front desk personnel, were consistently supportive, friendly, and welcoming. Their words of encouragement during difficult times made a significant difference. The results of my case were in line with my expectations, with the added benefit of Dan's thoughtful considerations for future scenarios. This outcome has not only brought peace of mind but has also positively impacted other areas of my life, including my career. My experience with the Family Law Group, and specifically with Dan Macdonald, was marked by their efficiency, clarity in communication, and a genuine understanding of my situation. Dan's ability to listen attentively, even when I felt I wasn't making much sense, stood out to me. For anyone in a similar situation, I would recommend the Family Law Group without hesitation. Their approach to handling cases is top-tier, and they truly look out for your best interests.

I approached the Family Law Group to handle my case of terminating spousal support. My decision was influenced by their reputation in the London area, particularly their top lawyer, who I suspect expects high standards across the firm. The experience confirmed my expectations. Their approach was characterized by clarity and efficiency, ensuring a smooth process. The outcome was favourable, resolving the matter to my satisfaction. This has alleviated a significant financial burden as I retire. I highly recommend the Family Law Group for their professionalism and effective results.

As a retired police officer, I've had my fair share of interactions with lawyers, particularly in the criminal defence sphere, which is vastly different from family law. My experience with the Family Law Group, however, was driven by a need to terminate long-standing spousal support following my retirement. It was a purely financial decision devoid of any emotional baggage after 23 years of divorce. I discovered the Family Law Group through Top Three, a website that ranks professionals in various fields. Their top ranking in family law in my area, London, Ontario, instilled enough confidence in me to choose them without delving too deeply into individual lawyer reviews. My first interaction with the firm was seamless. Opting for a face-to-face meeting, I found the process efficient and punctual. Kaila, the lawyer who represented me, was personable and immediately put me at ease with her demeanour. Our initial consultation was straightforward. With my background in law enforcement, I had a reasonable expectation of the legal process, making it easy to communicate my goals. Kaila offered clear guidance and outlined her approach to negotiations with my former spouse's lawyer. The retainer process was smooth, and I was fully informed of the costs involved, leaving no room for surprises. Kaila's professionalism shone through during our consultations. She set clear expectations, confirming my understanding of the legal proceedings. Her approachable nature and ease of communication reassured me that I was in capable hands. Most of our interactions were conducted efficiently via email, with the firm handling all aspects of the case. I was always given the opportunity to review and approve any proposals before they were sent out. Kaila's assistant, Jaclin, was also prompt and professional in our email communications. Kaila's pleasant and professional character made working with her easy. The support staff, though I never met them in person, were equally proficient in their roles. The outcome of my case was resolved to my satisfaction, which was the best I could realistically hope for. The financial aspect was handled pragmatically, without any emotional strain. The firm and Kaila navigated the monetary negotiations effectively, keeping within the limits I was comfortable with. If asked about the value of the Family Law Group's services, I'd emphasize that quality comes at a cost. In my experience, the level of service and outcome is often proportional to what you're willing to invest in legal representation. Overall, my interactions with the Family Law Group, and specifically with Kaila, were characterized by efficiency. Punctuality, preparedness, and a smooth process from start to finish defined my experience. For anyone in a similar situation, I would advise knowing your end goal, being realistic, and being prepared to invest in quality legal services.

Working with the Family Law Group was stress-free. Their communication approach was absolutely amazing – no endless waiting on the phone, no voicemails. Instead, my concerns were promptly addressed over clearly detailed emails, making the whole consult and retainer process easy to understand. Jaclin and Kaila were always attentive and quick to answer any questions. Kaila was personable and comforting, and what I liked best about her was her calm demeanour and frankness. I found her extremely kind and compassionate towards my situation, and she actively considered my needs throughout the process. Although I didn't interact much with the support staff beyond emails, the front-of-house staff were a delight - always respectful and patient. I started my separation process in September, and by the second week of October, everything was ready and signed! The speed at which Kaila prepped my case and negotiated a fair division of assets was incredible. Initially, I was unaware of what I was entitled to, but the outcome exceeded my expectations. It is indeed a relief to have moved to a new city with a good buffer to support myself and invest in the future. The fees seemed a bit daunting initially, given that I depended financially on my ex. However, having a sense of the potential outcome, I realized this was an investment worth making. The money spent didn't seem like a burden to me anymore, as Kaila's efficiency and knowledge ensured that every penny was well spent. Ultimately, what I appreciated most from my interactions with the Family Law Group was their sensitivity and kindness. The fact that they could turn my spiraling situation around and assure me that things would get better meant a lot to me. There were no negative interactions. Even a minor issue, like an unnoticed e-transfer, was swiftly corrected. Kaila's command of legal processes and deep knowledge made me more comfortable with my case. Overall, my experience with the Family Law Group was a pleasure, and I would gladly use their services again if the need arises.

Due to personal situations in my marriage, I had the unfortunate circumstance of needing a family law firm. I selected the Family Law Group mainly due to word-of-mouth, their reputation, and positive reviews. I appreciated their exceptional communication and heartfelt compassion. My lawyer, Dan, truly exceeded my expectations. He wasn't just a lawyer but a support system encouraging me through a challenging period. He was a good listener and very supportive. Regarding the case outcome, I achieved the best possible resolution the legal system could provide. This has strongly impacted me, giving me a renewed sense of peace. I cannot recommend Family Law Group enough for anyone having to tread through complex family matters.

I initially had dealings with the Family Law Group back in 1999 or 2000 and remembered working with Brenda Barr. I was facing an open child support payment issue this time around and decided to reach out to them again for professional guidance based on my past positive experience. Just like the first time, the team was very professional and knowledgeable, but even more so this time. I felt extremely confident that they could assist me in resolving my child support issue. The attorney I worked with was down to earth, easy to talk to, and genuinely interested in my case. The outcome? My child support payments were successfully terminated, confirming these were not debts I owed. This resolution has significantly reduced my stress levels and allowed me financial peace of mind. It also reaffirmed that I have fulfilled my obligations as a parent, with my daughter now over 21 and living an independent adult life.

The Family Law Group, especially my lawyer, Dan, were excellent partners during my divorce. Dan was easy to talk to from the start and reassured me with his knowledge and expertise. His calm manner actually helped ease my nerves and anxiety. I appreciated the firm's seeming simplicity in handling this complex and emotional process. They eliminated a lot of stress for me, and everyone was responsive whenever I needed assistance or clarification. They took on most of the work, making the whole process more tolerable for me. Dan was also hugely supportive when I wrote a heartfelt letter to my ex-spouse. He encouraged me to express my feelings, reminding me it was more about my personal release than having a legal impact. I genuinely value his compassion and kindness. Another thing that struck me was the team's commitment to communication. They were highly efficient, providing all the necessary information and getting back to me promptly. Their timely responses were crucial in ensuring that I felt in the loop every step of the way. The outcome wasn't exactly what I had initially hoped for, but I had already anticipated that. Yet, having the Family Law Group by my side made achieving the final result smoother and less taxing. There's no way I could have done this on my own. It was far too stressful, and the firm's guidance and buffer were a great relief. Financially, I remained stable throughout the process, thanks to my savings and some help from my family. Mentally, the path was full of emotional hurdles, but having the firm at my side, navigating the legal intricacies for me was invaluable. Simply put, to anyone questioning the Family Law Group's worth or finding them expensive, I'd say they were money well spent. They provided the support I needed at a time when I felt most vulnerable. Based on my experience and the peace of mind they provided, I'd gladly recommend them. Everything they did reaffirmed my belief that they live up to their excellent reputation. After all, as an investment in your peace of mind, their services are hard to put a price on.

Right from the start with the Family Law Group, I felt a sense of warmth and sincere dedication towards my case, which is not something you typically expect from a law firm. Right from day one, they were helpful and engaging. They offered alternatives, set clear expectations, and delivered exactly as promised. The one who truly set the firm apart was Dan; his business-like but down-to-earth demeanor made it feel like he was genuinely committed to achieving the best for my case. Both during the initial consult and throughout the process, he displayed a level of competence. He went above and beyond, navigating complex situations that veered from the norm, and provided clear, reliable answers every step of the way. His approach left no surprise, and truth be told, his expertise exceeded my expectations. The firm's professionalism extended to its retainer agreement process, which was straightforward and transparent. They demonstrated a level of service that felt tailored to me and my needs, showing kindness and respect even in answering questions that I myself thought might be silly. It's this personal touch that truly creates a sense of ease when working with the firm. When it came to closing my case, the firm efficiently fulfilled its obligations. The process unfolded smoothly despite waiting on outside entities like the Family Responsibility Office. The firm's responsiveness persisted even at this stage, promptly addressing all concerns as soon as they arose. Above all, they made me feel valued. Looking back at my experience, I have no doubt that engaging with the Family Law Group was the right decision. Dan and the rest of the team handled my case with such care and efficiency that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to others. Their work has impacted my life like a weight being lifted off my shoulders, and I am sincerely thankful for all their effort.

I approached the Family Law Group due to issues with non-payment of child support. I chose this firm based on a friend's recommendation and my personal desire to be represented by a woman, feeling that another woman might best understand my perspective. The firm's efficiency, specifically Kaila, stood out throughout the process. Their clear communication, thoughtful consideration of possible outcomes, and guidance on how to keep my retainer bill efficient were invaluable. At one point, I hesitated to register my existing court order with the Family Responsibility Office for enforcement. However, Kaila respectfully and directly highlighted the financial implications of my decision, leading me to a choice that prioritized my financial well-being. In terms of outcomes, everything owed regarding child support, including section seven and extraordinary expenses, was reflected in the final order. This outcome has brought peace in what has been an incredibly stressful time. The pleasure of knowing I won't have to interact with that individual ever again is immense. I'm grateful to the Family Law Group for helping me resolve these issues and allowing me to move forward with a sense of finality.

I had retained the services of a firm in Sarnia, and my experience was mostly negative. The process had been frustrating, to say the least. However, everything changed when a friend recommended Kaila from the Family Law Group. In my initial interactions with the Family Law Group, they came across as quite informative, diligently walking me through the policies, procedures, and retainer process. Despite Kaila's full caseload, a little self-advocacy led me to consult her. Kaila impressed me from the very beginning. She was bright and understanding of my situation and conducted herself with the utmost respect, clearly laying out the path we needed to take. Kaila made sure to be transparent about the fee structure, explaining how she worked with a law clerk and how their time was billed differently. This encouraged me to take on some tasks myself or with the assistance of the law clerk, which would be a more economical choice, keeping my bill manageable. This approach of hers I highly respected. Kaila demonstrated a deep understanding of my case and a commitment. The letters she wrote to my ex-husband echoed both my voice and the voice of the law, capturing specific instances and concerns accurately. I became confident in her abilities early on, feeling secure in her organized and grounded approach, especially when we faced court appearances. She remained focused, even when my ex tried to derail the conversation with irrelevant stories and harsh comments, showing a level of restraint and professionalism, which was reassuring. She was very responsive and accommodated conversations even outside regular business hours. She went above and beyond to address pressing issues despite it being a challenging time for her. She also showed compassion, making this stressful period slightly more bearable. Throughout our conversations, when I found myself emotional, she remained supportive, reminding me to consider my mental well-being alongside financial matters. Respectful of my time, steering clear of irrelevant topics, thus ensuring an efficient, friendly, and even occasionally light-hearted dialogue. Her commitment to representing me to the best of her ability was almost tangible, always working with a focus on efficiency and cost-effectiveness. This genuine concern for my well-being and finances makes me recommend her services to others. The support staff at the Family Law Group also played a positive role in my experience. Their efforts to keep the client informed were apparent and much appreciated. I was constantly updated on all transactions, enjoying a level of transparency and thoroughness that pleased me. They were always available and accessible, facilitating a smooth and convenient process. Another thing that stood out was the convenience of handling most procedures electronically. Being in Sarnia, an hour's drive from the firm, the option to conduct meetings via phone, Zoom, and email saved me considerable time and money, eliminating the need for in-person visits. This was something I truly appreciated.

After firing my lawyer in Sarnia I reached out to Kaila at the Family Law Group for help. I couldn’t have been more pleased with this decision. Everything was laid out for me, no hidden details and they even explained how I could save money! Kaila and her team walked me through every step of the process, were quick in responding, even when I was panicking about some things they would respond via email or a phone call to help me better understand and calm down. The Family Law Group got immediately to work on my case, kept me informed regarding all proceedings and communication with the opposing counsel as well actually listened to me. We were able to settle the matter out of court in a relatively timely fashion. I highly recommend this firm to anyone seeking counsel and I have referred friends who have retained the services of The Family Law Group.

From the outset of my interaction with the Family Law Group, it was evident that I was dealing with a proficient team. Kaila, in particular, stood out with her straightforward and compassionate approach. There was no beating around the bush; she told it as it was while ensuring I was set up for success and not blindsided by any developments in my case. Throughout the process, Kaila and her law clerk, Jaclin, maintained constant communication. This factor was crucial, as it eliminated any surprises and kept me well-informed about the upcoming steps. I was impressed with their responsiveness and transparent communication, which kept me grounded during a challenging time in my life. Looking back, I would have advised myself to retain Kaila from the beginning, avoiding the stress caused by working with a different firm at first. It became quickly evident that their approach is different, marked by a clear dedication to their clients' well-being and success. The outcome of my case met my expectations, echoing their commitment to achieving the best possible result for me. I appreciate that they maintained a high service standard while keeping the client's interest at the forefront. Overall, I have nothing but praise for the Family Law Group. Their expertise and genuine care they exhibited place them at the top of my list of legal services providers. I highly recommend them to anyone needing assistance in family law matters. Their approach is not just professional but notably compassionate and understanding, which sets them apart in the legal landscape.

From the very first interaction, the Family Law Group felt like a step in the right direction. They were prompt and transparent and quickly assigned me a lawyer who matched the complexity of my case. After retaining them, I felt relieved knowing I had genuine support and could proceed without worry. My lawyer, Dayna, was stoic and pragmatic. What stood out most during our interactions was the fairness she exhibited in her approach. She ensured I had all the necessary details to make well-informed decisions without pressuring me to swing one way or another. Her business-like demeanor resonated with me, showing she had respect for my time and financial resources. The support staff, particularly Ashley, exhibited warmth and responsiveness, providing comfort and assurance. The outcome of my case exceeded my initial expectations. I anticipated an equal split from the sale of our house, but the settlement was more favorable than I had expected. Dayna stood by my decisions, recognizing the emotional toll and respecting my wishes to expedite the process without further antagonizing interactions with my ex. Dayna's guidance and professionalism, coupled with Ashley's warmth and support, created an environment where my best interests were a priority. Overall, my experience with the Family Law Group was positive, providing me with the necessary tools and support to close this chapter in my life with peace of mind.

From the get-go, the prospect of requiring the services of a law firm like the Family Law Group was stressful, to say the least. Divorce is no easy process, and reliving that time isn't something I particularly want to delve into. I chose the Family Law Group after brief research and reading good reviews. The selection felt random, but there was no second-guessing once I had made up my mind. My initial interaction with the firm was a quick brief—clear, straightforward, and efficient. I remember appreciating their professionalism; I wasn't looking for an impressive law firm. I was seeking results, and that's exactly what the Family Law Group aimed to deliver from day one. During my consultation, I had my first meeting with Kaila. She was transparent, approachable, and, again, efficient. Kaila made the process of understanding and signing the retainer agreement straightforward. Legal costs vary based on experience and personal requirements, but in my case, I felt comfortable with what I was paying for the services I was receiving. I can't stress enough that my interaction with this firm was completely professional. I had no expectations from the start. This was my first ever case, and the legal system in Canada was new to me. The Family Law Group, particularly Kaila, helped me understand the process. They were always approachable and candid with their answers, which I truly appreciated. Their communication style was efficient. Sometimes the responses were quick and sometimes took a bit longer, but I always felt heard and never felt like I was waiting forever for a response. The Family Law Group handled all the work, including patiently answering my numerous questions. They clearly explained that the smoothness of the process was purely dependent on court availability, which helped set my expectations right. The outcome of my case was 100% what I was hoping for when I first started looking for a lawyer. The result didn't come as a surprise to me or Kaila; it was just a matter of time. The post-COVID backlog was a challenge, but patience paid off. My experience with the Family Law Group was positive. I wouldn't necessarily recommend a specific law firm because experiences can vary greatly from person to person. However, I can suggest giving them a call if you're in a similar situation. They are worth considering. Throughout my journey, my focus was not on forming impressions or seeking standout qualities but rather on getting the job done as soon as possible. The one thing that did surprise me was how slow the legal process could be. Still, I understood that it was a nationwide issue and not reflective of the Family Law Group's capabilities. Looking back, I wouldn't have done anything differently. My experience with the Family Law Group was very straightforward and focused on results. The retainer agreement process was a ten out of ten—nothing complicated, just simple and clear. Their approach to my case was a testament to their commitment to their clients and professionalism.

When I first consulted with Dan at Family Law Group, he was very clear about what he could do. We conducted most of our work via email, which was practical as it left no room for miscommunication or forgetfulness - everything was there in black and white. The tone and content of his correspondence left no room for doubt. His approach was candid and direct - he broke down our big problem into more concise, simple terms and cut through the excesses. With each interaction, our trust in him grew. His professional demeanour was coupled with an underlying warmth that made us feel supported and understood. Despite the complexity of our case, the firm made the process look easy. Their responses were prompt and effective, minimizing the need for endless back-and-forth emails. They knew exactly what we needed and provided appropriate solutions. To me, their work seemed seamless, though I know it must have required considerable effort behind the scenes. It's hard to forget the letter Dan wrote to the other party's lawyer. It was unambiguous, with an assertive tone that clearly communicated we were not to be toyed with. His foresight and strategic approach put us in a strong position, ensuring our last offer was taken seriously. Support from the team was consistent and smooth. Dan's assistant, Carrie, stood out, responding timely and competently during Dan's brief absence, ensuring continuity. The outcome of our case was a victory for us. We secured the house, and the relief of not having to move was immeasurable. The value for money we received from Family Law Group was worth every penny. Not only did they handle the case professionally, but they also went the extra mile to secure a full separation agreement, providing peace of mind for the future. Looking back, if there's any advice I'd share, it's that nothing beats a pre-emptive agreement before moving in together. But if you're already past that point, as we were, and find yourself unable to resolve issues amicably, then hiring a professional like Dan at the Family Law Group is the best option. His straightforward approach, compassion, and keen understanding of the law make him an excellent choice.

Working with the Family Law Group was a positive experience. Their simplicity, quickness, and effortless communication stood out above all. Their geographical proximity was also an added advantage, giving me peace of mind knowing I could quickly reach them for in-person meetings if necessary. Her empathetic approach assured me that I was truly her priority. Thanks to Family Law Group, the outcome of my case has given me a clear picture of my future and next steps. Amid a challenging situation with divorce terms not being met, I turned to the Family Law Group for help in seeking retroactive child support and expense recovery. They were highly recommended, and their initial consultation convinced me of their appropriateness for my needs. I cannot express enough the sense of confidence they instilled in me with their profound professionalism and knowledge. They exuded authenticity, reinforcing my belief that they were truly invested in my case. Though the outcome of the case wasn't exactly what I had hoped for, this was more due to the unusual circumstances of my case than any shortfall on their part. Despite this, the Family Law Group never faltered in their dedication. This unwavering support throughout a challenging time has truly made a difference in my life, and I am deeply grateful.

Working with the Family Law Group was a life-changing experience, particularly during a trying period. Right from the start, the firm set my expectations honestly and professionally. The way Kaila, my lawyer, and her assistant, Jaclin, handled my concerns was absolutely remarkable. They were always reachable and prompt in responding, ensuring I never had to wait more than half a day for a response. Throughout my case, Kaila and her team showed their competence. I remember vividly a time when we faced challenges getting a response from my ex-spouse's lawyer, which caused me a lot of frustration. Kaila took it upon herself to keep me in the loop with the developments, ensuring I was prepared for any eventualities. Her dedication to her work and my case was profoundly reassuring. What really set them apart was the ease and simplicity of their processes. Despite the complex legal jargon in the separation agreement, Kaila ensured I understood everything before signing anything. Her team's dedication to answering my questions quickly, even when one of them was away, was genuinely appreciated. Their quick responses helped ease my stress and anxiety during an already challenging period. As for their personality and character, Kaila is a gem of a person. She's the type you'd want to be friends with. Her active listening skills and engagement in conversations put me at ease. And it wasn't just Kaila; the support staff at the firm were incredibly responsive and friendly. Everyone I interacted with was pleasant and efficient, providing answers promptly and respectfully. In terms of results, I was pleasantly surprised when my ex-spouse signed the agreement, and this was an outcome both Kaila and I were skeptical about initially. Having the outcome I hoped for felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. The entire journey took an emotional toll on me, but having the right law firm to handle my case took away a huge chunk of that burden. They truly put my emotions and stress level at ease, making every dollar spent worth it. They were always straightforward with their charges, ensuring I never felt overcharged or taken advantage of. They are truly dedicated professionals who are capable of providing the support you need during difficult times. They listen to your needs and pair you with the best suitable lawyer. They made a significant difference in my life, and I'll never forget them.

During a challenging time in my life, I sought legal guidance and found it in the Family Law Group. Working with them was a unique experience where I felt heard and valued, not just another number in their client ledger. The team, particularly Kaila, prioritized my needs, reflecting a profound respect for their clients' unique circumstances. The initial interaction with Kaila set the tone for our interactions. Despite our limited voice-to-voice contacts, she was succinct and straightforward, making it clear there were no hidden agendas. Everything felt client-centric; she refrained from unnecessary billable hours and waited for my direction, showing an authentic commitment to my needs above anything else. I found Kaila to be an active listener, easygoing, genuinely caring, and receptive individual. My trust in her abilities and confidence that I was in good hands solidified when she meticulously reviewed our draft separation agreement. Her fresh perspective and expertise led to a series of suggestions that my wife's lawyer and I had overlooked. This experience highlighted her extensive experience and expertise in crafting agreements. My interactions with the support staff, particularly Jaclin, were equally positive. They were welcoming, quick to respond, and always ensured clarity and comfort. Their seamless and timely communication never left me waiting for their service, providing an overall ease to a potentially complex process. I appreciate the firm's flexible approach to scheduling, ensuring that no unnecessary disruptions were made to my livelihood or family time. Moreover, their invaluable input in reviewing and revising our separation agreement streamlined the process and added credibility to the document, which my wife and I largely prepared ourselves. Unfortunately, the outcome of my case was not the one I had hoped for—reconciliation with my wife. However, it was as expected. The separation agreement provided clarity for both of us moving forward, and, most importantly, it serves as a safeguard if things take a turn for the worst. Throughout this journey, my emotions have been a rollercoaster. But Family Law Group's approach was far from overbearing or pressurizing. They respected my decisions, and, despite potential legal benefits, Kaila ensured my wishes were upheld. The level of service and experience far exceeded the monetary fee. Family Law Group's rates were justified, given the quality of their service. Their client-first approach and thorough legal expertise provided the support I needed during this challenging phase in my life. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing professional and compassionate legal assistance.

When I left a domestic violence situation, I knew I needed the best lawyer to deal with a high conflict divorce. Brenda and Family Law Group came highly recommended from another legal professional, so I trusted I would be in good hands. Brenda & Dayna have handled my case for almost 3 years now, and they have been nothing but a god send in this extremely contentious situation, with an abusive personality on the other side. Without Brenda, there would have been zero movement on the case, because the lawyer on the other side was not nearly as skilled, and preferred to continue conflict instead of resolve it. Brenda and her team have walked me through some of the hardest decisions of my life, and successfully handled all my custody and equalization issues - getting me the agreement I set out for, and that was in the best interest of my daughter. I will forever be grateful to the entire team at Family Law Group. I recommend them to anyone looking for a skilled family law lawyer.

The Family Law Group was a lifeline during a time of great personal turmoil. It was an extremely distressing period when my partner left me after we had been together for 23 years. My heart was heavy with pain, my mind overwhelmed with uncertainty, and my pockets were unfortunately lean as I had been a stay-at-home mother. The idea of navigating a complex separation was intimidating and seemed insurmountable. The difference the Family Law Group made started with their unwavering support from the get-go. Their warm welcome and kind, understanding voice that always greeted me whenever I called set the tone for my experience. Brenda Barr and her team stepped in, and they were prepared to fight for me, to shoulder the legal battle. Brenda, in particular, was phenomenal. Her intelligence and acute sense of the law were second to none, especially in common law cases. Her every word and counter-argument during the proceedings was a testament to her legal acumen. Her respect for me as a person, her unwavering belief in my case, and her unfaltering support were instrumental to me regaining my footing. The staff was another layer of their superb service. Always respectful, they made me feel valued as a person and not just another divorce case. Julie, who I regularly interacted with, offered me a sense of camaraderie with her shared experiences, and she provided a reassuring presence. Her empathetic approach allowed us to establish a mutual rapport, which lightened the burden. The communication from the Family Law Group was simply outstanding. They were consistently proactive in keeping me informed about my case's progress, erasing the stressful void of waiting for updates. There was never a moment where I felt ignored or unimportant. With hindsight, I now see that I should have hired Brenda Barr from the very beginning. Attempting to save money initially by opting for cheaper legal support led me down a path that was fraught with stress and lack of progress. If I had to do this all over again, my first step would unquestionably be to contact Brenda and her team at the Family Law Group.

My experience with Family Law Group was nothing short of outstanding. I found myself in a challenging situation involving separation with children involved, scared, stressed, and uneducated about the whole process. A family friend of Brenda Barr recommended the firm to me, and I chose them based on the glowing recommendation. From my very first interaction, the staff was organized and helpful, setting my expectations—a ten out of ten. Brenda's confidence during our consultation immediately struck me. All the stress was gone, and I felt like she could take the job seriously. I was very happy with her education and experience, which gave me a sense of relief. Brenda's confidence and knowledge were crazy good, and she's just amazing. The consultation process allowed me to speak, providing them with the necessary information, and they guided me with what they needed. I appreciated the confidence and trust I felt in their team. When it came to the retainer agreement, everything was clear, and I felt good signing the contract. It was all understood. The ease and simplicity with which the Family Law Group handled my case were invaluable. They handled basically all of it, letting me know when I needed to show up and when I didn't. They put my mind at ease—absolutely, 100%. Brenda was caring, sincere, confident, and trustworthy, making me feel comfortable. The support staff were fun, happy, and organized, which added to my positive experience. Communication was never an issue. Emails and phone calls were received in a timely fashion. The responsiveness meant more to me than I can express. Even when I sent an after-hour email, by the morning, I would at least have an acknowledgment, which was wonderful. The outcome of my case was a separation agreement signed before the court. It was exactly what I was hoping for, and I felt very happy and confident afterward. The law firm guided me through the process, giving me the knowledge to deal with smaller things individually moving forward. The mental and financial impact of the case has left me feeling more comfortable, and the value for money spent was 100% worth it. Looking back, the only thing I would have done differently is call them sooner and let them handle it faster. The time it took for things to resolve surprised me, but that was a minor concern compared to the exceptional service I received. The Family Law Group did everything I needed them to do, and their kindness and energy made a significant difference in my life. The consult was worth the money, and their experience and how they dealt with my needs was remarkable.

From the moment I made contact with the Family Law Group, their level of care and commitment was immediately clear. My initial interaction with Liz, who guided me through the intake process, was nothing short of stellar. She was detailed, thorough, and patient, ensuring that every necessary question was asked and understood. Throughout my engagement with the firm, communication was streamlined and efficient. I knew what was happening at all times, and my case moved forward without unnecessary delays. Lisa, the lawyer assigned to my case, was undoubtedly exceptional. She exuded confidence and exhibited a level of knowledge and experience that was truly reassuring. Lisa was the embodiment of determination and assertiveness. She plays hardball, a trait I found important given the legal divorce I was navigating. She wasn't messing around, always meaning business, and that struck a chord with me. She was stern, not in an unfriendly or cold manner, but rather in a way that clearly communicated her commitment and hardcore approach to my case. What I found particularly impressive was how well Lisa and the rest of the team worked together. They handled all aspects of my case with a high degree of proficiency. The accounting department, for instance, was on point, contributing to the seamless experience I enjoyed at the firm. One case outcome that particularly stands out was the child custody agreement. Lisa helped me gain custody of my kids, which was not an easy feat. She fought hard for my rights and managed to get an arrangement that would be in the best interests of my children. This has had a significant impact on my life and the lives of my children, and I couldn't be more grateful. The Family Law Group's effectiveness isn't confined to just the lawyers; their support staff, like Liz, are equally commendable. Liz was incredibly dedicated and worked tirelessly throughout my case. I even jokingly suggested that she deserved a bonus because of her hard work on my case. To say that my experience with the Family Law Group was positive would be an understatement. The firm's dedication to their clients, their exceptional communication, and the clear results they deliver make them a force to be reckoned with in the field of family law.

After contacting the Family Law Group, I was set up with Kaila for a consultation within a day. They were extremely kind, patient, and empathetic about my situation. My first impression of Kaila was comforting. She was compassionate and straightforward, guiding me through the process and setting clear expectations. Despite my reluctance to involve lawyers against my ex-husband, Kaila reassured me, providing comprehensive financial advice and fielding all my questions. The consultation phase was pivotal for me. I got a grasp of the cost involved and, importantly, the hope that I wouldn't lose everything. The path to arranging the funds was strenuous, and I had to cash out some of my savings, but it was worth it as it saved me from debt or borrowing from family. I admit the retainer process initially seemed confusing, with the need to always maintain a minimum balance. I was unsure about the funds, and that caused a bit of stress. Yet, after signing the contract, despite my fears, I realized I had embarked on a long but necessary process. Kaila's professionalism was top-notch. I appreciated her matter-of-fact approach, even though I sometimes wished for more communication. However, I understood that each interaction would cost more, so it was a mixed bag. There was a bit of a hiccup during a switchover with the clerk during my case, but that's life, and these things happen. Throughout this process, Kaila and her team never faltered in their commitment to my case. Their thoroughness assured me that they wouldn't miss a beat, that no information would slip through the cracks, and that if my case ever went to court, it would be rock-solid. As for Kaila's personality, she struck me as kind and polite. I admired her directness and the fact that she was young, enthusiastic, and learning. The support staff, especially Jaclin, was also extremely friendly and easy to work with. Their communication was clear, concise, and prompt. Their responsiveness was particularly commendable. They answered my questions quickly, ensuring I was never left in the dark. In the end, my case was settled favourably. I finalized the separation, took over ownership of the home, and secured a separation agreement, which provided some stability. Keeping the home where my children grew up was a big win for me, and I'm grateful to Kaila and her team for helping me achieve that. The value for the money was absolutely worth it, and I'd recommend Family Law Group to anyone dealing with an uncooperative ex-spouse.

Brenda truly helped me get through one of the toughest periods of my life. I have my kids, and my life back thanks to her. Her fees are on the higher end but they were what I expected for her level of experience and the determination she brought to the case. She made my husband's counsel crumble in comparison. Thank you Brenda & team. I felt like the case was in good hands with the Family Law Group from consultation through to end result.

I initially hired Brenda because I really didn’t want to go up against her if she represented my ex. Once we got working together, I could totally see why she was so highly recommended. Is she the cheapest option? Definitely not. Did I feel well taken cared of the way a divorce lawyer should? 100%. Her approach isn’t the warmest, but I wanted a good lawyer not a new best friend. Some of her advice could have been taken as curt, but I see it as her not wasting our valuable time and getting straight to the point. The comments about her being cold despite being a woman and a former social worker are so sexist — would you expect a male divorce lawyer to give you warm and fuzzies? It’s a double standard bestowed upon professional women, including lawyers, that frankly needs to be called out for what it is: sexist and unfair. I’ve recommended Brenda to others going through marital changes, and would definitely continue to do so. She’s the best in the area without a doubt.

From the moment I reached out to the Family Law Group, their level of professionalism and care were beyond impressive. It all started when I spoke to Jaclin, who initially answered my call. Her compassion and assurance gave me the confidence that my case was in the right hands. And I wasn't wrong. Working with Brenda was an experience unlike any other. She exuded a commanding presence and radiated an energy of knowing what she was doing. My case was complex, involving my daughter's safety, and my expectations were high. Brenda exceeded those expectations, taking matters seriously and immediately springing into action. While her demeanour was firm, she was never rude. She balanced friendliness and professionalism to perfection. Her character was apparent in the empathy she showed during our discussions, expressing shock and sympathy for the difficult circumstances we were navigating. The aura of her vast experience and competence made me feel confident and reassured. Corina, a member of the admin staff, was an absolute gem. Dealing with her was a breeze. She was friendly, accommodating, and comforting even in times when I was in full panic. The reassurance she provided was invaluable. Kaila, another lawyer who worked alongside Brenda, also played a crucial role. Her ability to listen, understand my points, and adjust the legal paperwork accordingly, was truly impressive. Throughout my case, communication and responsiveness were generally commendable. They were always available during the critical times when I needed their input. Their swift responses, primarily led by Corina, made sure my concerns were addressed promptly. As for the results, they were extraordinary. I now have full custody and decision-making power for my daughter, which was my foremost priority. Thanks to Brenda's astute drafting and understanding of the law, the protections put in place for my daughter gave me the peace of mind I needed. While the fees were a significant sum, the value I received, given the complexity of my case and the favourable outcome for my daughter's safety, made it worthwhile. If you need someone to fight tooth and nail for you in a complex case, especially if there are children involved, then I would absolutely recommend the Family Law Group. They may not be the cheapest option, but they are worth every penny if you can afford it.

Working with Dayna and the Family Law Group has been an absolute blessing during this difficult time in my life. They came highly recommended, and from the initial consultation, I felt a sense of understanding and compassion that made me feel secure. Dayna's professionalism and upfront, conscientious approach eased a lot of my anxieties. It was like playing a strategic game of football, and with every move, Dayna was ready with a defence plan, answering all my inquiries in detail. The whole process has been surprisingly simple, despite the complexity of my situation. The support staff was instrumental in making things run smoothly. No matter how chaotic or scattered my thoughts were, they were there, like a calming force in the eye of the storm. They were prompt with their responses, patiently guiding me and helping me focus on one step at a time. I found this level of attentiveness exceptional, allowing me to live my life knowing that my case was being handled competently. Dayna's character stood out in the whole process. She is not underhanded or slippery but maintains an ethical, forthright practice. For example, when my husband's lawyer tried to incite a fight over petty household items, Dayna offered me an honest assessment of the situation, not wanting me to spend unnecessary time and money on insignificant issues. Her firm yet gentle approach was indeed what I needed. When it came to communication, they exceeded my expectations. Whenever I was anxious or needed clarification, they found someone in Dayna's team to talk to me promptly. Despite the case not being settled yet, Dayna has diligently and strategically moved things along as quickly as possible. Her tenacity and dedication to my case are a testament to the firm's commitment to its clients. Working with the Family Law Group, I have realized their worth isn't just in the legal support they provide but also in their emotional support. As a woman leaving an abusive marriage, I needed a lawyer who was not only competent but also empathetic. Dayna and her team have gone above and beyond to help me regain control of my life. Looking back, the one thing that surprised me the most was how much a good lawyer could make a difference in my life. Dayna is not just another lawyer; she is someone who deeply cares about her clients and ensures their needs are met. And if I were to do anything differently, I would've hired them sooner. For anyone contemplating hiring the Family Law Group, I'd say trust is paramount, and this is a firm you can put your faith in. You'll be in capable hands. It's not just about having a lawyer; it's about having a team that genuinely cares for your well-being, both legally and personally. And that's what you get with the Family Law Group.

I recently had the opportunity to work with the Family Law Group, and this was my second time requiring legal assistance, and I was pleased with their down-to-earth and empathetic approach. When my ex-husband failed to pay child support, frustration consumed me as it was a recurring issue, and I feared depleting my entire pension on lawyers' fees. However, the Family Law Group's team provided much-needed support and guidance during this trying time. When I initially reached out to them, I inquired about their hourly rates through an email. They responded promptly and provided me with the information I needed. Throughout the process, their professionalism and responsiveness were excellent. Despite being in and out of the country, they accommodated my circumstances and helped me navigate legal matters smoothly. Kaila, the lawyer I worked closely with, was approachable and understanding. She spoke to me like a friend, making me feel at ease discussing the sensitive details of my case. Her competence became apparent when she drafted a strong yet tactful letter to my ex-husband and his lawyer. It instilled confidence in me that she was skilled in negotiation rather than resorting to confrontational tactics. One aspect that truly stood out was the Family Law Group's consistent communication and transparency. They kept me informed every step of the way, even during the long delays caused by my ex-husband's lack of response. I never felt left in the dark, and they made it clear that I was not waiting on them but on my ex-husband's cooperation. Their ability to provide me with multiple options at each stage of the process was reassuring, as they considered best-case, worst-case, and middle-ground scenarios. Working with the Family Law Group was a breeze. They took care of the financial aspects and handled the necessary paperwork, ensuring I had minimal involvement. Due to their comprehensive understanding of my situation from a previous legal procedure, they already had much of the required information, making the process smoother and more efficient. Apart from Kaila, the support staff, particularly Jaclin, played a significant role in my positive experience. Jaclin was responsive and went above and beyond to address my concerns promptly, even after I had completed my work with the firm. Their commitment to client satisfaction was evident in their quick responses and helpful guidance. Ultimately, the outcome of my case was favourable. My ex-husband is now fulfilling his child support obligations. While the process took longer than expected, the fault did not lie with the Family Law Group. They did their best within the circumstances, and I'm grateful for their support in achieving this outcome. To those considering hiring the Family Law Group, I highly recommend them. While cost may be a factor, their expertise and knowledge make them worth every penny. Their lawyers are well-qualified and adaptable to different budget ranges, ensuring you find a lawyer who suits your needs. In my experience, they treated me with the utmost respect and made me feel valued, regardless of financial considerations.

I'd never really thought I'd be the one to write a glowing review for a law firm, but here we are. I had two terrible experiences with family law lawyers before the Family Law Group. Both were unresponsive, and I felt lost and ignored, with the burden of my case hanging heavily over me. Then, a well-respected lawyer in town recommended the Family Law Group. That recommendation turned out to be a game-changer. The first thing I noticed about the Family Law Group was their incredible responsiveness. They were quick to respond to any inquiries I had, keeping me updated about motions and case developments without making me wait anxiously for days. They'd promptly let me know whenever there was a delay, ensuring that I was never left in the dark. Working with Brenda, one of their seasoned lawyers, was a particular highlight. Her years of experience were evident from the get-go. Having her in my corner, defending me, offered a sense of relief and assurance I hadn't felt in a long time. As for the outcome of my case, it was a positive one. Initially, I had a gloomy outlook, and I was preparing for the worst - losing my kids, going broke, and feeling utterly broken by the experience. But, thanks to the Family Law Group, I didn't just dodge these fears - I won my case. My life has changed profoundly since then. The sense of freedom, the reduced stress, and the newfound confidence I've gained have been invaluable. I am now able to move on and live my life without the weight of an unresolved case on my shoulders.

Before coming to the Family Law Group, I had to file for separation and divorce from my ex-husband. I chose this firm primarily for its convenient location and because it came highly recommended to me by a friend in the legal profession. Working with the Family Law Group and Kaila was an absolute pleasure. They were consistently polite, professional, helpful, understanding, and quick to respond to any inquiries or concerns. The outcome of my case was exactly what I had hoped for. I successfully obtained my divorce and did not have to pay my ex-husband anything. Navigating a complex legal separation was an intimidating prospect for me, especially as it involved multiple businesses and financial complications. Before finding Brenda and her team at the Family Law Group, I had the misfortune of dealing with several lawyers who didn't meet my expectations. However, my experience with the Family Law Group was a welcome breath of fresh air and a lifeline in a stormy sea. From the outset, the professionalism of the Family Law Group set them apart. Whether it was the clear communication about retainer payments, the expert advice from Brenda, or the way every staff member treated me with respect and kindness, I found myself developing a strong sense of trust and confidence in them. This level of professionalism turned a stressful process into a manageable one. One aspect of the Family Law Group's service that truly stood out to me was the ease and simplicity with which they made the entire process feel. It was more than just a client-lawyer relationship; it felt like a genuine partnership. I was empowered to contribute to the proceedings in a meaningful way. The staff at the Family Law Group deserve a special mention too. Their welcoming and congenial approach made me feel valued and comfortable. It felt like I was not intruding but rather being warmly received every time I interacted with them. Brenda, in particular, was incredibly knowledgeable and consistently prepared. Her to-the-point approach and thorough preparation reassured me that I was in good hands. She was there for me, fighting my case with an unwavering dedication that I deeply appreciated. However, even the best experiences have room for improvement. One suggestion for the Family Law Group is to offer a final consultation a few weeks after signing the documents. This will allow clients like me, who might feel overwhelmed during the signing process, to settle down, absorb the information, and prepare any final questions. In hindsight, I would advise anyone in a similar situation to do their research on lawyers. Avoid the initial setbacks that I faced and be proactive. It's an emotional time, but you need to find the right law firm. And I genuinely believe that the Family Law Group is that firm. Overall, my experience with the Family Law Group is a 10. The professionalism, the approachability, the expertise, the experience - everything was top-notch. Without a doubt, I would refer them to a friend or family member. If you need a good lawyer who cares about you and prioritizes helping you through your process, you can trust Brenda and the Family Law Group.

I contacted the Family Law Group based on a recommendation to seek out Brenda for my case. I liked her right from the get-go, and that set the tone for my subsequent interactions with the firm. Over time, I also had the chance to work with a few law clerks who made the entire process more comfortable. My first meeting with Brenda was over Zoom due to the pandemic, but I had the opportunity to visit the law firm for mediation. This left a positive impression on me as I appreciated the flexibility during such a challenging time when I didn't want to be alone. During the initial consultation, Brenda put me at ease as we discussed my relationship history, reasons for the marriage breaking down, and my financial situation. She ran some numbers to enlighten me about potential spousal support and child support, which was incredibly helpful. What stood out most was her empathy. We even shared some personal stories, which helped establish a strong bond from the start. The retainer process was smooth, with a clear explanation of where my money would be going, monthly invoices detailing hours worked on my case, and advice on how to lessen my fees. Upon signing the contract, I was filled with mixed feelings — relief but also a sense of apprehension, knowing that it marked the beginning of the end of my separation. Throughout the process, the Family Law Group maintained prompt communication, usually responding to my emails the same day. Brenda made a point to ensure I understood everything that was happening. Even in instances that required expertise beyond family law, Brenda advised me to seek opinions from relevant professionals. The ease and simplicity of working with the Family Law Group were noteworthy. Corina and Lauren, the law clerks, played a significant role in handling my case, making it less stressful for me. Brenda even took it upon herself to reassure me during stressful times, recommending mindfulness practices like meditation. Brenda was friendly yet stern when she needed to be. I found her to be compassionate and kind, and she made me feel stronger when I doubted my own strength. Her character complemented her professionalism, making her an exceptional advocate. In terms of responsiveness, I always received replies on the same day and sometimes even during weekends when necessary. Brenda went above and beyond by responding to my emails even during her vacation, ensuring I got the answers I needed. The outcome of my case was more than satisfactory, and I doubt I could have achieved a better result with another firm. Brenda didn't accept lowball numbers and made sure that I got what was fair in terms of spousal and child support. The resolution has set me on a secure path both financially and emotionally. When I think about value for money, I am convinced that every penny I spent was worthwhile. This journey with the Family Law Group has been long and not without its share of stress. But through it all, I found a caring, friendly, and committed team of professionals who were with me every step of the way. If a friend were to ask me for a recommendation, I would, without hesitation, endorse the Family Law Group.

When I first found myself needing legal assistance due to separating from my ex-spouse, I was nervous and stressed about losing my house and full custody of my daughter. I searched for "lawyers in the London area" and came across the Family Law Group. The location was on the outskirts, which was helpful, and their website seemed reassuring. I initially reached out to the firm a couple of years ago for a consultation but later called back to move forward with my case. The firm seemed confident that they could handle everything. My first contact was over the phone with Kaila due to COVID, but I met her in person to sign the papers. She seemed nice, sounded confident, and was approachable. During our first consultation, she asked for all the case details and told me how much the retainer would be. She went over what to expect, so I wasn't really surprised at anything along the way. They also explained the retainer agreement process, and it was really easy with an e-transfer. Throughout my experience with them, I felt confident and reassured. Though I was frustrated at the time it was taking, it wasn't their fault, and they were trying their best. Everything was really easy and actually easier since most of it was done over phone calls and emails. They handled most of the work, and Kaila was able to put my mind at ease. The support staff, like her paralegal, Jaclin, was also helpful. Their communication was really good, usually a response within a day or so, and if they were out of the office, I would get a notification. We are now legally separated, and they sent me the paperwork to file the divorce, and it sounds like it will be resolved shortly. This outcome means a lot to me; it would have been a nightmare if I had tried to do it on my own, especially during COVID. They were worth it and really helpful for me. I would recommend them because they weren't as expensive as you would think, helpful and polite, and they put things in simple terms you would understand. They were all professional yet casual, and Kaila talked to me like I was a peer and not like she was better than me. Looking back, I probably would have done it sooner. I waited until I was separated for four years to move forward, but other than that, the Family Law Group made the process smooth, stress-free and provided me with the legal support I needed to move forward with my life. I needed help negotiating the financial settlement between my ex-husband and me, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience than with the Family Law Group. I was seeking an uncontested divorce and really wanted a lawyer to handle my case, so I could avoid any unnecessary stress. I hoped they'd take care of everything for me. The first time I reached out to the Family Law Group, I had a case that needed to be resolved urgently. From that first phone conversation, the staff was amazing. Very good with customer service and able to get me scheduled right away. Jessica was the available lawyer, and our initial phone conversation was great. She was very well informed and also made me feel assured that she knew what she was doing and was quite experienced." She listened to me and asked questions that made me feel like she'd definitely be able to help me. When it came to the retainer agreement, it was quite a lot, but not new to me, as I've had similar experiences with other lawyers. Signing the contract was fine, and I felt okay with it. Throughout the process, Jessica and her team handled everything. The communication was excellent; if anything, they had difficulty dealing with me not answering emails on time. But they did very well in making the process simple and easy and did things diligently and right on time. In terms of personality, Jessica is very easygoing. She made eye contact, and I had no concerns, to be honest. She was good. Excellent even. The support staff were very friendly too. The whole experience in the office was good, and I felt welcomed. The outcome of my case was good, and we were able to split our proceeds, etc. I got what I wanted, so I don't think I would have done anything differently. I am very satisfied with the outcome. Lawyers are all expensive, but I'm very confident with Jessica, and I would definitely recommend her to family and friends. Overall, the communication from the firm was excellent, and they kept me informed and got things done on time. As for Jessica, what stood out most was her ability to really get my wants and needs.

I recently worked with Kaila and the Family Law Group to address an ongoing spousal support issue, and I couldn't be happier with the results. From the very beginning, the firm demonstrated professionalism and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process. Kaila set clear expectations and timelines, walking me through each step and consistently confirming that she had the correct information. Her friendly demeanour and ability to explain legal concepts in layman's terms instilled confidence in me that I was in good hands. The support staff was equally friendly and efficient, making sure I was informed about the process every step of the way. The firm's responsiveness was outstanding, as they always got back to me within 24 hours, and I never had to follow up. The outcome of my case was exactly what I hoped for - I was able to successfully remove spousal support payments, which were no longer necessary due to my ex-wife's changed financial situation. In terms of value, the services provided by Family Law Group were well worth it. The process was neither overly expensive nor time-consuming. I would highly recommend consulting with this firm and explaining your objectives, as they will provide honest and straightforward feedback on how they can help. Overall, I would give the Family Law Group high marks in all aspects of their service, from initial contact to closing. Kaila's expertise and the firm's commitment to making me feel at ease throughout the process truly stood out. I would not hesitate to refer Family Law Group to friends or family members in need of legal assistance.

I hired the Family Law Group for my divorce case and am extremely satisfied with the outcome and service I received. From the very beginning, during the initial consultation, through to the finalization of my case, the firm and Jessica exhibited exceptional professionalism, expertise, and a genuine caring demeanor. Throughout the process, the team set clear expectations and guided me step-by-step, ensuring I was always informed and knew what to do next. I appreciated their clarity and transparency, as I never felt lost or unsure about my role or responsibilities. I never felt left in the dark or uncertain about any aspect of my case. The firm was recommended to me by someone I trusted, and right from the start, I felt confident that I was in good hands. They continuously proved their competence and made me feel reassured and well-informed. For instance, they followed up on a significant delay with my pension that was not their fault, ensuring that I was aware of the situation and working to resolve it. The firm's support staff was equally impressive, as they were always prompt, friendly, and professional. Their attentiveness made the whole experience feel simple and straightforward. Jessica, in particular, stood out with her knowledgeable, calm, and understanding approach. The firm's attentiveness to my emotional well-being during this challenging time was truly appreciated. My case resulted in an equitable distribution of assets, and I couldn't be happier with the financial independence and peace of mind it has provided me. I have since bought a house and celebrated my newfound emancipation with a trip to New York. This outcome was precisely what I had hoped for when I first decided to look for a law firm to handle my divorce. While hiring a lawyer can be expensive, I firmly believe that the services provided by the Family Law Group were well worth the investment, as they alleviated much of the emotional burden associated with a divorce. In hindsight, I would have liked to know the total cost upfront, but I understand that no one can predict the exact expenses involved in such cases. The only part of the process that felt stressful was the uncertainty about the total cost; however, I don't resent the money spent, as it was necessary to achieve the desired outcome. If you are considering hiring the Family Law Group, their services are worth it. You are hiring trained professionals who will work tirelessly to represent your best interests and ensure a fair resolution. I highly recommend the Family Law Group to anyone in need of a family lawyer.

I was in what I thought was a very happy marriage and had been with my husband for 20-something years. There was no inkling of anything. And then I came home, and he had disappeared. He'd ghosted me. Initially, I retained the services of another big firm in London. My experience with them was a nightmare, and I felt like there needed to be more integrity regarding billings and getting back to the client. If you send an email, you don't want to wait three weeks for a response because you're having sleepless nights. It was a three-year process, and there was a lot of evidence, so my ex-husband settled. More recently, he wanted to bury the spousal support. So that's what led me to the Family Law Group, where Brenda Barr took over from there. Who I was dealing with was extremely aggressive, and it was just a nightmare that he put me through the first time. Because of who I was dealing with, I was looking for a very assertive lawyer who could hold their own in facing someone who was extremely bullying, manipulative, and dishonest. I required someone who was not only well-versed in family law but could see this through to what would become an aggressive trial. I needed a highly skilled and experienced lawyer, and I'd heard through word of mouth that Brenda Barr was that person who also had a lot of integrity and who would fight for her clients. Everybody in that law firm was stellar. There wasn't one unprofessional person. Everybody was kind, patient, knowledgeable, and prompt in getting back to me. My experience in having had the Family Law Group handle my case was a really positive one. How the Family Law Group handles things doesn't even compare. It was far superior in terms of customer service, being available, thorough, providing advice, and being kind during what was an extremely difficult time for me. Even though the Family Law Group was very expensive, working with Brenda, a senior lawyer, they weren't a law firm to capitalize on my state of mind. In fact, they did the exact opposite, always reminding me that time was money for me and that we needed to be briefer on things. And I really respected that. That showed a lot of integrity and helped me trust them because I trust no one anymore. I also loved that if I sent them an email, they were very prompt in getting back to me, alleviating the wait time and my anxiety about things. I would highly recommend them to anybody. They're just the most professional, well-oiled machine. The way they ran that firm was second to none. I've never seen anything like it, and I used to be a legal assistant and dealt with many law firms. I've never seen that kind of efficiency. I was super impressed by them. I settled for not a lot of money, but I feel free. I can already feel that things are turning for me mentally because I'm finally free of him, and he's now dead to me and gone, and I never have to deal with him again. That's been everything for me. So I still made the right decision, despite the advice I was getting. Brenda was very clear in pointing out her views on what she felt would be acceptable by a court and that she wasn't in agreement and thought that he was getting a great deal. But at the end of the day, it had to come down to what I decided I could deal with and take anymore. I'd been bullied to the end, and mentally I was not well, so I just couldn't take anymore. The decision was made by me and was based on years of having had to deal with this lying narcissist. I don't think I would have survived it, as I already had to deal with trauma and depression from the fallout of our marriage. That's what I ended up explaining to Brenda. They were fabulous. Every single one of them was amazing. Brenda is hands down the only person I would ever see if I needed help again, and I have told everybody I know she is stellar. And as far as her support staff, I dealt with Lauren, Melanie, Danielle, Christina, and then Wendy, her bookkeeper, and every single one was amazing. Just amazing. She's hired really well. If you're looking for the best law firm to represent your interests, the Family Law Group is professional, knowledgeable, and has a lot of integrity.

I had an excellent experience with the Family Law Group. From the consultation to the final settlement, the firm provided amazing services with the utmost professionalism and respect. During the initial consultation, I felt confident that I was in good hands. Dayna, my lawyer, was understanding of my unique requests and worked diligently to ensure the best possible outcome for my case. She was respectful of my wishes and made sure that my ex-husband was treated fairly as well. The entire process was straightforward, with the firm handling most of the work. I only had to provide financial statements, and they took care of the rest. Their communication and responsiveness were exceptional, always quick to reply to emails and address any concerns. Dayna's warm and welcoming personality made it easy to work with her. She was patient and always acted in my best interest. I was thrilled with the outcome of my case, as Dayna managed to secure $8,000 more than my ex-husband initially proposed. I would highly recommend the Family Law Group to anyone in need of legal services. If I could rate them on a scale of 1 to 10, I would give them a 15 for the services offered. In hindsight, there isn't anything I would have done differently or that the firm could have improved upon. They made the entire process stress-free, and I am grateful for their support throughout my case.

I needed a family lawyer because my ex-husband had not changed the amount he had been paying in child support for ten years, so I was going to request an increase and back payment. It was stressful because my ex wasn't someone that I could deal with without a lawyer. It wouldn't be a mediation situation, and I knew that because of previous experience. A friend of mine, a social worker in our city, had heard about the firm's owner, Brenda Barr, as empowering and fair to women. So that's why I consulted with her initially, and I found that consultation to be very helpful and very fair. I explained my case to her. I was clear that I was limited financially, but I knew that my ex would be difficult to deal with and that I needed legal intervention and representation. I asked if her firm would take it on, and she was very fair, realistic, and reasonable in assessing what I needed. So she recommended that instead of using her, I use a lawyer that would cost a bit less. And that's how I ended up with Kaila Meddoui. What stood out most during my consult was speaking about my rights and validating that I had a case. Brenda explained that, as the head lawyer, it would be very expensive, and she didn't think that was necessary unless things became very difficult. So that was a very fair analysis. She could have taken it on and charged her full cost, but she didn't feel the need to do that, so it was good. After signing the retainer agreement, I felt hopeful because things were finally getting dealt with and would move forward. I felt like I was well-represented, and I felt confident. They were clear on what the law says, and they were able to take the information that I had, and they were able to say, this is what we'll use this for, and you absolutely have the right to this, and here's what we need from you to show this. So we worked very well together to pull everything together for the case. Email communication was very helpful. When I had a question, I would send an email, and if it needed to be a consultation, they would set one up. But most often, my questions could be answered quickly through email. They were very responsive, very available, and flexible around meeting times. It was all virtual because of the pandemic, which worked well for me. I found both Kaila and Brenda very similar. They were very personable yet professional and kept appropriate boundaries. They were very compassionate and validating when I spoke to them. I had a lot of stress around this, and they were comforting and validating what I was experiencing. Yet, they also let me know my responsibilities in the situation, even if it may not have been what I wanted to hear. We could keep emotions out of things and stay focused on the task at hand, yet they validated the emotions I was going through then. Honestly, it was worth every penny because I wasn't dealing with having to do the paperwork, although I dealt with digging and organizing all of my stuff to help them. Having their service was valuable. Don't hesitate to contact them because they will represent you well. You may pay a bit more, but it's worth it in the end. They're fair and reasonable and work toward the best outcome for their client, in a meaningful way, with clear communication and excellent responsiveness.

I don’t know where I would be right now if I didn’t have my lawyer who helped me to continue fighting for my children. My ex is one of the most difficult people and it felt like an absolute hopeless nightmare most times to try and co-parent with him. I sought legal advice when I had to change my previous separation and child care agreement. I decided to go with the family Law Group because I heard good things about them when we asked around. My lawyer Kaila was very kind, easy going, approachable, and a good listener. I appreciated how she explained in simple understandable language how things were done from a legal standpoint. My ex was constantly telling me how things were going to go. I now have sole decision-making as the primary care provider, and parenting time with my ex is at my discretion. My kids' health, education, and interests will be consistent in their lives now. I had a very positive experience with Kaila and her associates at the Family Law Group and would recommend this firm for any family law needs.

My marriage broke down, and I needed some help negotiating a separation. It was the hardest thing I've ever done, with finances being the most significant stress. I had a consultation with another law firm and did not like that experience. While talking to some friends, one of them recommended the Family Law Group. I looked them up, phoned, and spoke to the receptionist about my scenario. They recommended a few different lawyers at the firm, and then I picked Lisa. My interactions were incredible. It was a night and day difference between the other firm I first talked to. I have only good things to say. My consultation with Lisa was phenomenal. She was willing to listen without judgment. She's an excellent active listener. She asked many questions to understand my needs and to see how they could best help me. Everything was very clear right from the first call. Lisa understood the situation and could walk me through various scenarios which made sense. She was confident, and it was apparent she knew what she was doing. On a personal level, I could see her and me being friends outside of a professional relationship. She's compassionate, honest, and kind, but she didn't tell me what I wanted to hear. She told me what I needed to know, but she did that carefully. Everything was done virtually, and I only talked to Megan or Liz on the phone for a couple of minutes. Most of it was by email. The communication was very good, very clear, and fairly quick. We eventually negotiated an agreement, which is good. It took a couple of mediation sessions, but we got there. It was a huge sigh of relief. So they are definitely worth it. It seemed like an awful lot of money at the time, but there was a lot of legal expertise and a lot of action happening that I needed that I couldn't do by myself. They were very professional and did it very well. So it was money well spent. Some keywords that I would use to describe them would be compassionate, empathetic, knowledgeable, and professional. If you have a family law-related issue, phone them to ask questions and ensure they're the right fit. They have quite a few lawyers there with somewhat different specialties, so they would be able to find the right lawyer for you.

I was trying to get my life insurance lowered for the child support with my ex-wife, and I thought it would be easy enough not to require a lawyer. At the time, I was frustrated, thinking I was wasting money having to involve a lawyer. My new wife's lawyer recommended the Family Law Group. We looked at the reviews, and everything we read was good. They seemed very professional, and many people said they listened to their needs and were efficient. The first person we talked to was the firm's owner, Brenda. She heard what we were going through and what we needed and then suggested that we work with Laura. It was something that Laura could handle, and it would help us save money because Laura's fee was lower than Brenda's. Brenda was very professional. She was to the point, didn't waste our time, and it was nice that she was looking out for the client, trying to save us money. Laura was very kind. She had good ideas on how to handle things we brought up and suggestions on what we should ask for. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. By the time I signed the retainer, I felt confident. It was straightforward, and there was nothing hidden or anything. If I had to sum up my experience, it would be bang for your buck. They're totally worth every penny. Just their courtesy, professionalism, and how quickly they responded to questions. Very kind and attentive.

I was being taken to court for something I shouldn't have been, so I reached out to the Family Law Group primarily because of the reviews. I googled "Good lawyers," and I read a decent amount of reviews and thought, okay, I'm going to give these guys a shot. I liked the professionalism and the honesty factor. The outcome of my case was definitely satisfying.

I needed to resolve a child support issue and reached out to the Family Law Group because I had a previous experience with one of their lawyers, and it was very positive. I liked that they were knowledgeable, efficient with their work, and ethical. The outcome of my case was I got everything I needed, plus a little extra. It has allowed me to help my daughter with her education and finances, giving her more freedom and flexibility to concentrate on her studies and less on working.

My first experience with a family law firm was absolutely horrible. I had custody of my children but no vacation rights, child support, nothing. It was horrible. Then we went to Lisa at the Family Law Group, and she was amazing. She got us more than we needed, and everything was good until my ex stopped paying child support. At that point dealt with Kaila, and she was phenomenal. She was very nice. Many of our interactions were over email, so we didn't speak much, but that was okay. The whole experience was really great, especially because I didn't have to miss time off work. We could email back and forth, and she was very straightforward. Their communication was excellent. Anytime I had a question, they were able to answer quickly. Their communications always made sense and were concise, which I appreciated. They got the paperwork filed quickly, and they got me everything I needed. Now my daughter can stress less about financials while she's in university. Their rates were reasonable, and they didn't try and draw things out. They'd send out a detailed bill so you could see where all the money went. They're honest, they're efficient, and there's not a lot of drama with them. As far as value for money, it was amazing. They got what I needed to be done, and they got it done as quickly as they could. I would definitely recommend them.

I went through a separation from my wife of eight years, and we had to make a separation agreement and figure out the amount of money I would have to pay her out of my house. The first time I reached out to the Family Law Group was before my ex came after me for money. I wanted to speak to a lawyer to know my position in case something happened. Two months later, I received a letter from my ex's lawyer, so I contacted the Family Law Group again, and they set me up with Kaila. When I called in, they treated me very well and walked me through the whole process. Kaila made me feel very much at ease because she knew family law. I explained everything I was going through, and then she explained the process. All the paperwork I'm going to need to get in line, etc. There's a lot to it that I wasn't prepared for, but I got it all. They're very professional in everything they do, and the money I spent was taking care of me. It wasn't just going to someone who didn't care. Every time I emailed them, they always responded. Even if Kaila was out of the office, somebody else would pick it up and respond. I was never left hanging. Kaila was very friendly and very much on my side throughout the process. I never doubted her for a minute. Very honest. I wouldn't say blunt, but she would tell me, "This is how it's going to work, and this is what we have to do." I was like, that's perfect. Originally my ex came after me for $200,000, and by the end, I ended up paying her $100,000. So it's all settled now. At the end of the day, it's a lot cheaper than $200,000. It's a good outcome because I can keep the house and do with it what I please.

I started looking for a lawyer when I realized that getting a divorce is much harder than you think. I chose the Family Law Group because they have 25 years of experience, and I was impressed when I read the reviews. With People saying things like friendly, easy to work with, and good outcomes. They were friendly, honest, and genuinely wanted to help me. The outcome of my case was positive, and I got my divorce in the end with no hassle. It has allowed me not to feel attached to my ex-husband anymore, and it's allowed me the freedom to not worry about anything.

My ex and I separated and started living separately. Things needed to be handled formally because he's a really difficult person. If I didn't follow through with this, I would have been worse off if I didn't get a lawyer and gone through things formally. I met with my lawyer Kaila in person and discussed what had gone on. Then she explained her job, and I got a good impression right from the beginning. She's genuine and honest, and she'll tell it to you straight. She was very nice and patient and seemed to know what she was talking about. She was Very knowledgeable. She answered any questions that I had, and she was very professional. Everybody at the firm was friendly too. My case went to trial, and Kaila did a great job. She had a really nice closing statement and was able to help me stay calm and collected because it was a stressful time. The outcome of my case was very good. I got everything she helped me fight for. I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own. If you want a firm that you can put your trust in, who's willing to listen and be patient and kind with people and get the job done, and who has a lot of experience, I recommend the Family Law Group.

I was ending my employment overseas and returning home, so my material status was changing. Per my legal agreement, I would have to reassess my ex-wife's payments, and I needed to engage with a lawyer to get this through the courts. I didn't want to use a local lawyer and had heard good things about the Family Law Group. It becomes stressful whenever you go to court or deal with the Legal Society of Canada because the laws are very biased to a certain degree, and I knew that going into this. I talked to a few people and did a little research, and the Family Law Group seemed very reputable, so I decided to try them. I liked Dan right off the bat. I could tell he was a genuine man, and he was honest and fair. He told me right off the bat that if I lied to him, he was done. And it set the tone from the start. I had nothing to hide, and It was all upfront. But I gave him a lot of credit when he said, "You lie once we're done." And I said, "Perfect. You're my man." They were very upfront. They gave me the best-case scenario and worst-case scenario all through the process. Dan would always consult with me by saying, "If we don't do this and we do go this way, this is what the repercussions will be. But if you do it this way and we do it that way, you're going to come up with the desired result. I always felt Dan had my best interest at hand, and he knew where I came from and my expectations. He did all the legwork and sent me condensed documents. I could easily review the spreadsheets and the numbers made sense to me. If I had a query or felt we should approach it differently, I'd throw it back to him. He'd massage whatever he was writing, put it back to me, and if I agreed, I would say yes, we're good to go, and off it went. I received a fair outcome based on the current laws. Dan did manage to get some other positive things for me, which was good. I recommend them because Dan handled my case perfectly. After all, I still have a great relationship with my children.

I was married to my ex for 20 years, and she wanted out, and we had three young boys at the time. We separated, and I went my way, but she wanted to get back together, which wasn't going to happen. Fast forward a couple of years, she moved in with someone and started to get nasty even though I had never missed a child support payment and paid exactly what we agreed to on our separation. She now wanted to see my T4s from the past three years to get more money from me. So she ended up taking me to court. It just wrapped up. I had offered her $25,000 three years ago, cash, just to stop, and now we have settled on $8,000. This should have never happened. Kaila said, unfortunately, I got dragged in by somebody that doesn't work and needed money, and they figured, well, this is one way to do it. Kaila was very nice. Very professional. Hiring the firm was a huge relief. Am I glad? Absolutely. It's the peace of mind because I literally wasn't sleeping at night before then. I never felt dismissed by the Family Law Group. When I called, they got back to me. If I emailed, they would get back to me. I really don't have anything negative to say. They did everything, and that was the nicest thing. They did everything, right down to the end. With everything they did, I truly feel good about my experience. I got lucky. I picked the right firm and definitely got the right lawyer and team. The money was money well spent. It really was.

My ex and I had been separated for four years, so it was time for a divorce. I had put my application down at the courthouse, but when I learned about the next steps, there was so much more I had to do. So I decided to get legal advice to find out what my next step could be and to determine if I could do this on my own. I set up a consultation online with the Family Law Group, and someone called me back with questions to determine what I needed. The woman was very nice, and It didn't feel like she was invading your privacy. She was just trying to help you move along. I then had my consultation with Kaila. She walked me through the process of what was needed. She was very honest and explained that even though I'm doing a simple divorce, it can still be stressful with a lot of legwork. That's what I liked about her right from the beginning: she was being honest and so wonderful in trying to help me along with it. They made everything simple for me. They emailed every single little thing that had to go out. Sometimes I'd get an email on a Sunday to tell me about the process of everything that's been happening. They just keep you up to date. They did everything except for literally filing the application because I had already done that. Kaila had a good personality. She was friendly, warm, and caring; I just felt like she would take care of me. I felt comfortable with her, and I instantly trusted her. The support staff was warm and welcoming also. Whenever they messaged me, I never felt like I was just a client. It felt like they were messaging their friend. The outcome of my case was good. I got divorced, and there were no complications. The best way to describe it is freedom. I wouldn't have been able to get through it without them. Even if you think it's a simple divorce, it doesn't matter. It's so stressful to try to do it on your own. I have already recommended them to a friend. I gave her Kaila's card and told them exactly what I went through, how easy everything was, and that the price was wonderful.

I was in an abusive relationship, and staying in it for the kids was no longer an option. My ex was a lawyer, which complicated things, so I wasn't comfortable reaching out to a law firm in my area. I was very scared since I did not know much about family law. My uncle had heard good things about Lisa at the Family Law Group, so I went to her. She was so calm, very good at listening, and very detail oriented. By the end of my first meeting, I knew she was the one because of the way I felt at ease talking to her. After our consultation, Lisa's law clerk, Megan, sent me an email covering every single step that would come next. When I didn't understand some of the terms, Megan took the time to explain them in real simple terms. In the middle of my case, I wanted to move to London but was told it would be nearly impossible. Lisa made it possible. That was incredible. It allowed me to move to a different city with my kids to be close to my parents. Lisa fought for everything, and she was always there for me. In the end, when I got my divorce, we got out of the courtroom, and I was like, "Can I give you a hug?" I didn't know what else to do. I was that happy. They're definitely worth the cost because you need that to move on and start a new life. Lisa is the best in her field and knows what she's doing. She will not give you false hopes and will be upfront and tell you the truth. Good or bad. When the case was over, I was happy and sad at the same time because we wouldn't be talking on a daily basis. But they were like, "We're always here. Don't worry. Call us whenever." They are like family; I feel like I've made friends and family for life.

I decided to retain a lawyer because my husband and I felt the appropriate next step was to separate. I was worried about how this would affect my and the kids' lifestyles and wanted to make sure I was going to be protected. That's why I decided to seek legal counsel to ensure we would be taken care of financially. I had a neighbour who also went through a divorce, and his ex-wife had used Brenda Barr and said she was a very good lawyer, so I reached out to the Family Law Group. During the consultation, they provided an abundance of information. I had many questions, and they answered every question and then some. I immediately felt like they knew what they were doing. They were very thorough with their line of questioning, explaining their job and laying out everything for me. My lawyer Dayna was wonderful. She dealt with me with a lot of empathy, and she could understand my situation was very precarious. She has young kids, so I could relate to her, and it was a wonderful experience. I felt I was a human being, not a number. They were incredible with their turnaround times, and they were very available. Dayna was definitely working for me. If I needed something answered, they were very prompt in getting back to me via email, etc. I wanted primary custody and got it, as well as child support. The Family Law Group was great, and I found them quite reasonably priced. They had a good range, from junior associates to senior lawyers. I had a wonderful experience with Dayna, and I highly recommend reaching out to her. She did everything and more for me. I didn't feel like it was just about a dollar sign with her. I was a human being to her. That's very important, especially when it comes to family law and people going through separations because it's not easy.

My husband and I separated at the beginning of November 2019. I truly believed the process would be fairly simple. We had initially agreed to go through mediation through the courts with no counsel, but it quickly fell apart. I wasn't sure what I was going to do, but luckily Lisa Walters was recommended to me by another lawyer. When I reached out, the staff was friendly and helpful, and there was an element of understanding. They quickly made me feel at ease. When I met with Lisa, I thought she was knowledgeable. I asked her to take on my case, and she became my voice because I was very uninformed about separation agreements. What I was entitled to, what my ex was entitled to. We had kids, and we had a home, and we had investments. So she quickly became my voice in regards to informing me. In the end, we signed the legal separation. We still have a little paperwork, but the agreement is completely signed, and that was the initial goal, and that's what we have. It's like owning a company with another person and being able to end the relationship legally. I now have my sole proprietorship, and that's a great thing. You can't put a price on having a knowledgeable person. Who is very experienced and dedicated. I really couldn't have done it without her. I might have given in to many things that I didn't have to, but I didn't know that I didn't have to. She made sure to inform me, and she was very clear. Lisa will put your needs first. She will guide you through the process and will make sure that the outcome is a real outcome. Not necessarily a positive one because this kind of stuff doesn't always bring positive outcomes, but it'll be a real outcome. Your and your children's needs will be met when the process is done.

I went through a separation and chose the Family Law Group based on a friend's recommendation. I liked my lawyer's accessibility, knowledge, and personability overall. The outcome of my case was everything I ever wanted, and I couldn't be happier.

I had a power of attorney for my brother, who has a mental disability. When he separated from his partner of ten years, we sought financial compensation since my brother was on disability. I contacted the Family Law Group, and they assigned Dan to my case. We had a brief call where he outlined the process, what would be involved, and the retainer. I had a good impression, so I decided to introduce my brother to Dan and have him take on the case. When I work with people, I look for people I like and trust, and I just felt comfortable with Dan. Communication was easy, whether by telephone, email, or Zoom. We're happy with the outcome and the support payments. We received funds, and we plan to receive additional funds next year. We're basically securing funds for when my brother reaches retirement age. I highly recommend them.

My ex and I separated, and I didn't want a lawyer, to be honest, but because of things that had transpired with him and the push from family and friends, I decided it was in my best interest to protect myself from his behavior. A friend recommended the Family Law Group, and they set me up with Kaila. After checking Google reviews about the firm and Kaila specifically, I was happy with what I saw. When I met with Kaila, it was a Zoom meeting. I found her to be very nice and a great listener. She was good at justifying how I felt and seemed to be the right fit for the situation. We spoke about the gist of what was going on in my life at the time. She explained to me how the situation would unfold. It was a general overview of her services. I felt more at ease after I talked to Kaila about my situation. My ex thought he would fight the verbal agreement we had when all this started, and he would ultimately get more out of the situation than he was entitled to. But the verbal agreement is what we ended on and that's what's on paper now. I'm really happy it's over. That was the biggest thing when I first spoke to Kaila, I just wanted it over, and I just wanted to move on with life. My experience with Kaila was great. The Family Law Group as a whole is also great. They have a ton of experience, are reputable, and have been around for a long time.

My ex-husband and I had a marriage breakdown. We had two small children, and we ran a business together. We had some investment properties as well. We also had a home, so there were a lot of moving financial parts that needed to be dealt with, so I sought out help. It was a very stressful time. When I went into the Family Law Group's office, they were very kind and very calm. I was not in a calm state of mind at the time. They brought me into one of the meeting rooms, and it was a very welcoming place where I felt safe. The thing I liked the most about my first consult with Lisa was that she was very methodical from the beginning. She was like, "Okay, so we're going to need to address these things, and we need to address that." Overall, she had a really good grasp of the law and what I needed. Lisa is a competent, intelligent woman who is in your corner a hundred percent. She will go to bat for you. She doesn't waste your time, and she doesn't waste your money. She's honest with you about the realities of the legal system and what you can and can't do. So you can make informed decisions about where you want to focus your time and where you want to focus your money. I was very happy with the financial outcome I received. Considering I started with not even getting a hundred bucks in child support. We sold the marital home and other properties, and I have established child support in place. I know she's expensive, and not everyone can afford her. But if you can, it would be beneficial to work with her. Because she's a great lawyer, a great person, and the firm is there to back her. I've recommended her to a few people already.

I needed to process a divorce and was feeling overwhelmed going into it. With all the documents, the process, and the timeframes, I needed some help. I searched for family lawyers in my area and chose the Family Law Group. They got back to me quickly, were professional, and took me seriously from the first interaction. When I met with my lawyer Kaila, she was very nice, detailed, explanatory, and sympathetic to the situation, which is definitely a plus when dealing with family law. She explained the process from start to finish and immediately provided me with the documents I needed. I knew what I was getting into. I knew the paperwork. I knew what they needed from me and what they would do with that once they got it. So it was very upfront and straightforward. My case turned out exactly how I wanted it to. To the letter. A non-confrontational uncontested divorce with the care and responsibility of my child, exactly how it's supposed to be. There was no compromise. I went into it expecting exactly what I got out of it in the end, at the price they told me it was at the beginning. I'm not convinced that I would've achieved the same results if I had gone to a different law firm. I feel like meeting Kaila and Dimitria at the Family Law Group was exactly how it was supposed to happen. I'm so grateful that everything went through exactly how it did.

I have had the pleasure dealing with Kaila Meddoui and Dimitria De Rita on a family legal matter for the last several months and want to share my amazing experience with them. Although the situation we were dealing with was not pleasant, these two ladies handled any questions I had promptly and with thorough explanations. They handled each step professionally, overcame all obstacles, and provided me with the knowledge and confidence throughout the process that this situation was being handled correctly, speedily and appropriately. I cannot express my gratitude to both Kaila and Dimitria for their professionalism and thoughtfulness, and wanted to take a moment to recognize it publicly. If you are in search of help to handle a family legal matter, you should look no further than these two professionals. They are without a doubt a shining example of what lawyers and legal professionals should be when dealing with vulnerable family type situations and the people involved and I will recommend them to anyone in search of legal help any time I get the chance. Great work folks, thank you again! Dave

I wanted custody of my daughter because her dad wasn't stable. I knew I had to do something about it immediately before it got out of hand, so I reached out to the Family Law Group. I met with Dan and explained my situation. He was very good at listening, asking questions, and determining a plan. He gave a lot of suggestions, and that made me feel comfortable. He was really friendly, really personable. He came across as caring and nonjudgmental. I cried to him a couple of times, and he's like, "No, I get it." So, very supportive. I felt comfortable talking to him and opening up about what was happening. And I would always ask him for feedback or advice. I'm happy and feel more at ease now and can move on in life. The Family Law Group is really good, and the money I spent was well worth it. At the end of the day, I just feel better, and I feel like they were a good group of people who helped me through a difficult period.

I figured my divorce would be straightforward, but unfortunately, the opposing side wanted to make it difficult. Once I understood that, I lawyered up and went to Brenda Barr. You could tell they were very professional at the Family Law Group. Different people contacted me depending on the topic; everyone had their roles and was very well organized. They will put you back on track if you're going off course with what you're telling them is irrelevant to the success of your case. They have a vision of what they need from you and keep you on those rails. In the end, everything worked out as it was supposed to. I'm able to retire, and that was the kicker. When you're 54 and plan for 30 years to retire at 55, and some small-town lawyers I had seen before working with Brenda Barr say you're going to work until you're 62, you tend to get a little bit pissed off. Even if you're going through a simple divorce and just need paperwork drawn up, I would still go through them because you're only going to pay for what you need. I never got the impression that they wanted me to pay for something they didn't think I needed. They never oversell you. They're not going to waste your time, and you're going to get what you pay for Brenda's not the cheapest, but I'm not going to the cheapest person because that's what you'll get. So, whether it's a simple divorce or a very complicated one, I recommend the Family Law Group.

I needed a law firm with more experience. I wanted to deal with a law firm instead of a one-person law office. I chose the Family Law Group based on reviews because it was one of the best in London, Ontario. I liked their responsiveness and professionalism and that they kept me on task. The outcome of my case was fair and equitable as opposed to what was being requested from the opposing side. It has allowed me to focus on my new relationship.

Family Law Group, from the moment I made my first call, to the last call, they were professional, caring, and took my concerns and requests seriously. They did what I asked them to do, and suggested different ways of handling the case that would make sense. And with COVID, they handled my case all over email and phone calls. Explained costs to me in detail. I would have liked at least a couple zoom calls so I could put a face to the name, but did end up meeting my lawyer a just a couple times thru the process. I highly recommend Family Law Group as your divorce lawyer.

Brenda Barr always made me feel I was in good hands. She was professional, prepared and knowledgeable about all aspects of my case. In court, she was always 100% on my side. She made sure I felt heard and protected during a long and miserable legal battle and she and her team helped me navigate a challenging legal process (which is not for the faint of heart). The legal process is very costly so be prepared for that ... but knowing you have to pay, do yourself a favour and choose Brenda and her team as your support system. You'll be glad you did.

Out of the blue, my ex stopped making child support payments. He sent me a letter and said, that's it. I'm done, and I'm not paying you anymore. I tried contacting the lawyer at the law firm I was dealing with previously, and she decided she couldn't make enough money off of me, so I had to find another lawyer. I had been researching and came across reviews and comments regarding the Family Law Group, so I reached out to them. They set me up with Dan Macdonald, and I couldn't have been happier because he was so compassionate and understanding through the whole thing. He heard what I had to say, and I really felt that he had my back. We had to go through court to mandate my ex to provide his financials. Two weeks after court, there was an offer for a settlement. I felt relief and vindicated for fighting for myself. They are 100% worth every penny. They will fight for you, and they'll be there for you. And if they feel it won't be in your favour for any reason, they won't take your money. If you want to get it done correctly and taken care of properly with care and compassion, and understanding, contact the Family Law Group.

The care and compassion from beginning to end with Dan and his team was so very helpful in a situation that felt overwhelming. What I appreciated the most was that I didn’t feel like they wanted to push for more than what was fair and I truly feel that’s exactly what my outcome was. Even during a pandemic when getting together in person just wasn’t an option, timely communication was always of the utmost importance. I highly recommend Family Law Group, and Dan MacDonald to represent you and support you in what is likely one of your most stressful times.

I needed a formal separation through a lawyer to avoid hiccups later in life. I asked a co-worker/friend who had gone through a separation, and he told me who he used and then said, but this is who my ex used, and they were fricking awesome. That's who I wanted, and it was the Family Law Group. I called and made an appointment, and they told me Dan Macdonald would be in touch to answer any questions I had. They were super comforting. Dan was very understanding and a great listener. He was also very knowledgeable, and you could tell he was experienced. I felt reassured that he would work with me and get me through this, which he did. My ex was not easy to deal with at all, but they deal with that kind of situation all the time. They just took the pressure right off. Their response times were amazing. The whole process was a success, and they even worked with me afterward to get my final divorce certificate. Now I'm calmer, more patient, and less agitated or frustrated. I'm happier because this has simplified my life.

My ex-husband decided to leave our marriage after 28 years and tried to make things quite difficult for me. I was so stunned that my brain couldn't function. I was filled with fear about being financially destitute, not having a place to live, and watching my retirement completely disappear, which was just a few years out... It was horrible. While dealing with the sale of our home, I asked my real estate lawyer to recommend a good family lawyer, and he recommended Brenda Barr. When I met her, I thought she was professional and very capable. She made me feel she was on my side and would fight for and care for me. I came out of the meeting confident that I had chosen the right person. It was a very long, drawn-out process involving five lawyers on my ex's side. Sometimes I would end up in tears, and she was kind. She stayed professional, but she was kind and reassuring. I never doubted her honesty, ethics, or anything like that, and I always felt that she was a hundred percent true. We settled after four years, and I was very, very glad to have it done and to be able to move on. I was concerned that the cost would be quite prohibitive if we went to trial. It was a good outcome because we could go back and forth and come up with something we could both live with and be done. You will definitely be well-represented and well-taken care of by choosing the Family Law Group. Brenda is expensive but had I chosen a cheaper option, I may have gotten a different level of wisdom or experience, or even respect in the law system that I got with Brenda, which was worth a lot to me.

I needed to update my custody and access agreement, so I again sought out the Family Law Group to redefine the arrangement. I had to ensure that my drug-addicted, alcoholic ex-husband wouldn't have any unsupervised access to my child. My case was very complex, so the way things had to be written, all points had to be articulated, not to be inflammatory. I got what I paid for, and they were able to work with me in building a positive case. The thing that stood out most was their promptness. All communications were prompt and concise. They were always very quick to share what the other side had said. I didn't have to wait five days to find out. I was always on the receiving end of the information, and then I could decide how I wanted the information to be used. My case was successful, allowing me to keep my restraining order for a few more years and have the protection of having the whole decision-making. Laura was interested in helping me navigate the process and help me get a positive result.

My case was not simple. It needed a lot of attention and expertise. It involved various motions including jurisdiction, and return of child. And I was not willing to hire a law firm whom didn’t have the confidence needed to help me reach my goals. FLG was not the first law firm that I contacted. Once I met with Laura and Brenda, and they gave me their opinions, I knew that hiring them was the right choice. Brenda was my head lawyer. I also utilized the services of many of their junior lawyers, including Laura, Jessica, and Ryan. From the moment I retained FLG (2019) until recently when my case was closed, I have been in awe, of the professionalism and performance of this group of amazing lawyers, law clerks, associates and staff. I cannot say enough about them. It’s the little things for me that makes the biggest impacts. Their attention to detail, their dedication to their careers, always being available (never had to wait for a response). Brenda quickly became someone who I relied on, someone who I trusted. In a way, she became a part of my support system. I remember a few times that she talked me down off a ledge. She had a way of reminding me that we are on the right page, even if it didn’t seem like it to me. Then comes court dates. My nerves would be shot, I’d be sweating, possibly from not sleeping that night before. She walks in like it’s nothing, like she’s done this a million times before. We would walk into the court room and it was like a switch had flipped. The vibe changes. Brenda would all of a sudden own the room. She demands the attention and respect of everyone, without blinking an eye. Watching her and listening to her speak in the court room is nothing short of spectacular. The end result of my case was exactly what I wanted it to be. I wanted to be in my daughters life. I wanted her to have her entire family. I wanted her to live in a place where she feels safe. She has that now, and I owe it all to Brenda and the rest of the staff at FLG. I will always be grateful for everything they have done for me, especially Brenda. I hope this review was helpful.

My ex and I split up and had a five-month-old daughter at the time. Things did not end very well between us. We tried counseling, but that didn't work. She got mad at me over some things I said in therapy and blocked me from everything. She basically stopped all communication and wouldn't let me see my daughter anymore. I knew I had to get lawyers involved when she left the province. I wanted somebody confident who knew what the first step would be. I didn't get that vibe from the first firm I contacted. After talking with a few people, I was recommended to the Family Law Group. After checking out their reviews, I decided I had to meet with them. I first met with Laura, who took all my information. I showed her a lot of proof of trying to communicate with my daughter, some of the backstories of our relationship, and how I found her in Edmonton. Due to the type of case, they had me deal with Brenda Barr. She is a shark. I don't know what else to say about her. I sometimes get intimidated when talking to her because of her stature. She is somebody who demands your attention, which is good because I would never want to go to court with somebody other than Brenda. Ever. I had a lot of respect for her right out of the gate because I knew she was the person who would get it done, so I retained her after our meeting because I was 100% confident. Personality-wise, she's 100% professional. She doesn't mind the odd joke, but she's got tunnel vision for her career. When she's at work, she's there to work and not there to do anything else. She's there to do her job and does it extremely well. She's sympathetic to people she knows are going through a really rough time. From our first meeting, she knew exactly what I was going through because she's probably seen it a million times. I've called her and been almost in tears, and she calms me down. She knows how to get you back to a good level. She's not somebody who's like, "Oh, suck it up." She's really caring. Their response time is very quick. If I send an email at one o'clock in the afternoon, which needs to be dealt with immediately, I get a response within an hour. I can always get ahold of them. Wednesdays are family court days in London. So if it's a Wednesday and I know I can't get a hold of Brenda, I will always be able to get a hold of one of the juniors, and they respond very promptly. The outcome I was looking for was joint decision-making. I wanted to be involved in my daughter's education, medicine, and religion, and that's where we're at. Brenda got my ex to move back to Ontario because we determined that she had moved out there illegally. We fought that in court and won. Brenda was absolutely amazing in court for that. It was insane, and I couldn't believe it. She was just like those lawyers in movies or TV shows crushing it in the courtroom. She demands your attention, and she gets it. My ex lives back in London now, and I'm fully involved. We have joint decision-making, and everything is perfect now, which means everything to me. The sleepless nights... It was insane, and I was at rock bottom. I've never felt that way in my entire life, and I don't wish it on my worst enemy. I spent a lot of money with the Family Law Group, but you can't put a price on family. It's impossible, and I've always lived by that. If your case is complicated, I would go to Brenda or the Family Law Group because they will get the job done.

I had the pleasure of working with Kaila Meddoui. She was professional, attentive, empathetic and ALWAYS made me feel like my family was a priority! Kaila went above and beyond for my family. She fought hard for my daughter and for what we deserved. She was able to secure a final order that exceeded my expectations. Whenever there was an issue, day or night, Kaila was there. She made me feel valued and respected and she gave me the confidence I needed to continue to fight for the rights of my child. Her law clerk, Dimitria, was always willing to help and if unable to answer a question, would get in touch with Kaila to find the answers. I highly recommend this establishment, and Kaila, for your family law needs. Thank you Kaila for everything you did for me!

My daughter's father and I already had a final order, but he tried to come after me for ridiculous things. The worst-case scenario would have been losing sole custody of my daughter. I had previously dealt with the Family Law Group, so I contacted them and consulted with Kaila. She answered my questions thoroughly and let me know where I stood. So I retained her. I don't know how else to explain it, but Kaily is a badass. She's confident and not afraid to get her hands dirty. She's willing to go to bat for you. I've told my friends and family that my ex got screwed by taking me back to court because of Kaila. I always felt like a priority to her and that she cared about my daughter. There were a couple of emergencies, and Kaila emailed me to find out how my daughter was doing on her visits. Even on weekends, so I felt like she actually cared. I felt like I was a part of the team, and Kaila heard my wants and needs. I got what I wanted, plus more. I didn't realize all of the things I was entitled to. I will say that they are expensive, but you get what you pay for. They won't let you down and are there for you night and day. They have your back, and they fight for you. They fight for your kids, and that's the most important part. I would 100% recommend the Family Law Group.

I was extremely pleased with the professionalism of the team at Family Law group. It gave me a huge advantage since the opposing counsel was extremely unprofessional, unorganized and lacked the attention to detail necessary for a successful outcome for their client I definitely made the right choice for Ashley and Family Law Group to represent me in obtaining a fair and reasonable separation agreement I have already recommended Ashley and the Family Law Group to 2 other people who found themselves in the same position as myself

I had gotten a lawyer before contacting Family Law Group. Was scared and ready to give up because of the negativity and the hopelessness of being let down from a previous law firm. Once I got my retainer and had my first meeting with Dan I felt very strong confident and relieved. On my way home from this appointment I felt at ease I knew that I was in good hands (which you need and have to have when going through a most hard time in your life). No mater what time or what type any type of concerns I had I knew I could rely on Dan always. Yeah they might be expensive still you will save more money with this law firm. They are always on top of things always available. Only thing I can say is that I feel they are not just one sided they look at your situation from both your side and your ex partners side. Dan McDonald was my everything when I went through my separation was able to discuss anything and anytime with him. I highly recommend this law firm every visit to this office was like being part of a strong and supportive family. Dan McDonald I am super grateful for your help Thank from the bottom of my heart.
Ryan and his team were incredibly professional. They kept me informed at all stages and explained everything very clearly. I would highly recommend them.

My case didn't originate with the Family Law Group. It originated with a different lawyer who had to recuse himself from our case because he received an appointment to serve as a judge. He had recommended the Family Law Group and Lisa's services to me. I needed assistance with a divorce with a shared custody component with children. It's been a multi-year process that I initiated with my first lawyer in about 2015. Then after nearly two years, the last lawyer had to recuse himself, and then I landed with Lisa. It was about two years with Lisa before everything was said and done. When I first met with Lisa, I liked her style. I liked her approach. She was forward. She was honest with me, which I was looking for, and it felt like it was a good match. It was a professional environment, and I felt like the Family Law Group was more of a polished firm. Lisa definitely came across as very polished and very professional. She knew what she was doing. During the initial consultation, Lisa was quite candid with me and frank about what was next. I came in quite prepared, having done my homework, and she was quick to receive my feedback. It wasn't dismissive of the work that I had put in. It was, "Thank you for highlighting these things for me." Because it was quite a file that she had received. I ended up submitting my retainer within 48 hours of meeting Lisa. I definitely felt there was good value there. It was a very professional interaction, which I was quite happy with, and I was feeling relief that I had someone competent that would be able to take me through to the finish line. The outcome of my case was the completion of a shared custody agreement and confirmation of dollars of support. Lisa was the one that came up with different approaches that we could take and brought in third parties to help us get to a final state. That was very positive for me because that hadn't existed previously. My ex's lawyer hadn't brought those to the table, so I felt like Lisa brought a nice, fresh perspective. Lisa was very open and transparent, and my previous lawyer had a very soft bedside manner. He would try to sugarcoat things, whereas Lisa would say it as it is, which I truly appreciated. She clearly had my best interest at heart. It wasn't a life and death situation, but she did take it quite seriously, and I really did appreciate her effort. She was very competent. She understood the law. She understood the case. Even when we would go two or three months between talking and we had to do a refresher, she was always quick to refer back to her notes to see where things were, and she always took my feedback. The correspondence was always on point, and communication was always succinct. The staff, or clerks, were very responsive anytime I would have a question. It was quite positive that way. I only interacted with them over email, and they were always quick to respond and very supportive with any questions. I'm more of a digital person, so I was pretty happy to be working with a firm that was quick to email back and forth. It definitely exceeded my expectations. Given that they were a tech-savvy firm, it made things easy for when we had to start doing video conferences instead of meeting in person. That certainly helped me. It was a great experience with the firm. Lisa was great to work with. The biggest challenge that we had was the time limits of the other side. And then, when it came time to get into the court system, all the delays were due to COVID. I had a negative perception of lawyers going in thinking they'll go out of their way to drag things out. That was not my experience with Lisa at all. If it didn't make sense for us to talk, she'd flat out say, "Don't waste your time with me. There's nothing for us to talk about right now. Let's talk again in a month." I now have closure and peace of mind. I definitely got some gray hairs through the duration of the process, but it's nice to be on the other side of that now and have the relief of not having to work through the legal system anymore. I would quite contently recommend Lisa and the Family Law Group.

I received documentation from my ex which required me to have some legal help due to a marital breakdown. I needed to even the field and ensure I had someone looking out for my best interest. After searching online, I chose the Family Law Group because of their reviews and the fact that they only did family law. I met with Lisa for a consultation, and she reassured me about my situation. She explained my rights and the process. I felt informed and knowledgeable walking out of my meeting with her. It was a good fit with Lisa. She was easy to talk to, and I felt comfortable with her. She was understanding, compassionate and empathetic. As a whole, the firm is easy to reach. Questions were responded to promptly, and I never had to wait more than a few hours to hear back from them. There wasn't a point in time where I felt that they weren't being professional. Lisa did a great job resolving my case, and I'm happy with the outcome. At the end of the day, I got the results I wanted. Now things are settled, I have peace of mind, and I can move on with my life. My overall experience was very good, and I would definitely recommend them.

I was going through a separation from my partner, who left me while pregnant. I searched online and found positive reviews about the Family Law Group. So I looked at their pictures to see if they looked trusting. And when I saw Dan's picture, I just said, this is it because he seemed very genuine. He looked like he was going to do what was right. I didn't want to hurt my ex. I just needed what was right at the time. When I met him, I saw that he would care about me and my ex, and I felt he would do the best for us, which he did. He is very professional, very genuine, and very comforting. And very upfront. Just so accurate, almost like a robot. It was just amazing. He was so understanding, and he was always, always willing to listen and talk me through it. I'm pretty sure God led me to him. The Family Law Group helped me through every step, and I felt like they really cared about me. I knew they were expensive, but it was worth every penny. Actually, it was the best decision I've ever made. It's the confidence and knowing that you are in good hands. You have nothing to worry about when you have a good team behind you. That was exactly what I needed. The outcome of my case was that I got full custody, my house, and monthly payments for nine years. It was perfect.

I was going through a separation and had given my ex-partner a year to get her stuff together and figure out what we would do with the house. No movement had occurred, so I realized it was time for me to take the next step. I reached out to the Family Law Group, and during my consultation visit, they were sympathetic, listened, and weren't pushy. I felt very comfortable. Having that ear and having someone to talk to made a difference. Friends are one thing, but having a lawyer who's actually going to sit down and listen to you is another. She was honest and gave an honest outlook of what things would look like and how long it could take. So it was nice to have a good idea of what would happen. The outcome of my case was pretty much as I had wanted it to go since day one. We ended up settling, and I got a payout from my ex, which is what I was expecting. The firm was extremely thorough. When things stalled with the other side, they would always make sure that they'd say, "This is where we're at," on a Friday afternoon. Everyone was in the loop and knew what was going on. Every two or three weeks, they would send me an update, and I didn't have to ask for it. I never once had to say, "I'm feeling left in the dark. Where are we at here?" They're always very good with that. They were extremely competent also. I can honestly say that Caitlin made my ex's lawyer look like a dummy on more than one occasion. If I compare Caitlin to seeing my ex's lawyer, he was never prepared and always had to refer back to paperwork. Caitlin knew her stuff and knew what she had to do going in. She was confident, easy-going, and understood the process. I could also talk to her like I was talking to a friend, and we could bounce ideas off each other. I would one hundred percent, without a doubt, say that they are worth what you pay. They're very competent lawyers, and their communication is top-notch.

My ex and I had split up, and my accountant had mentioned during tax time that I should get a separation agreement so we could have everything squared away for the kids. I thought it would be good to have, just in case anything ever happened, so I reached out to the Family Law Group. After completing the intake form, I spoke with my lawyer, Kaila. The process seemed overwhelming, but it helped knowing she would email me step-by-step what we would work on. She was reassuring and informative, considering the amount of stuff we had to cover. She told me I could contact her if I had any questions. She was very helpful and attentive while we were on calls. Any questions I had, she was more than happy to answer. She was a great lawyer and just very straight to the point. She didn't want to waste our time knowing I was paying for this. In the end, I got the outcome I wanted from the beginning. The separation agreement is signed, and everything's good. It's invaluable because it sets the tone for our relationship with the kids, and each other, going forward. Knowing that I have that as backup, and it's legal, is a relief and feels good. It's a weight off my shoulders, knowing that's there. I have no regrets about hiring the Family Law Group, and I recommend them. We figured everything out that we needed to figure out, and they got the job done.

My ex-wife wanted to end our marriage but didn't want to negotiate our assets. She contacted a lawyer who sent me a proposal that wasn't acceptable, so that motivated me to get a lawyer involved also. My biggest concern was getting 50% of the house. I found the Family Law Group online after dealing with a firm I had been referred to that I didn't feel was skilled enough to handle my case. When I first spoke with the Family Law Group, they were very friendly and accommodating. Within a week of hiring them, they got me the important tools that were being withheld from me. I was really pleased about that. In the end, I got what I wanted from my ex plus more, being that her lawyer wasn't cooperating. My lawyer was awesome to deal with. Always on top of things, I never had to contact her and say, What's going on? I found the value to be good for what I paid and have no regrets about hiring them. I've already referred them to a co-worker who has become their client.

I had been separated with full custody of my son and was now looking for a divorce. I learned about the Family Law Group through a referral, so I set up a meeting with them. When I arrived at the office, I was scared, but they offered coffee and a box of Kleenex just in case I needed it. They were prepared, and you could tell this wasn't their first rodeo. I met with Laura Moyer for my initial consultation; she was very sweet, kind, and gentle. My TV impression of lawyers went out the window right away. She was reassuring and told me she would take care of it. In the end, the divorce was successful. The court ordered my ex to pay more money and ordered him to pay back child support. I have no regrets about hiring the Family Law Group, and I now feel a great sense of relief. I'm glad they were there for me.

One of the main things you would want as a family law client is for the law firm to be prompt. In this regard, the Family Law Group was awesome! Whenever I needed to get a letter out or obtain information, they were always very prompt. I was very impressed with the team. From the beginning, Dan was always very confident that I would get more time with my kids, and he came through on that, which was huge. That was the main reason I hired him. Dan is extremely competent, and he's probably one of the smartest people I've ever met. One time, I stayed up all night writing a response to an accusation and sent him a four-page document. He was able to take everything and formulate a perfect letter. I didn't know how he did it so fast. It was amazing. It was to the point, and he filtered out everything that didn't need to be there. I thought I was giving him too much information, but he always said, give me as much information as you can, and we'll decide what to use in the response. He was always ten steps ahead. He always thought about the final outcome, and when issues came up, he could diffuse them very quickly. He's almost like a robot, in the sense that he's programmed to handle everything exactly the way it should be. I don't know how to explain it, but I've never met anyone like him. I've already recommended Dan to a few people and will continue to do so. He was even conscious of my spending, so I avoided wasting money. It felt really good to have that. If someone isn't happy with Dan, it's most likely their fault. I don't see Dan as a lawyer at all. Dan was like a friend helping me out through all of this.

My case was in regards to my daughter's child support. She's 21 and in school, living on her own. I felt I was being taken advantage of in the end by my ex-wife. I never had an issue with any of my responsibilities—time, financial, or otherwise. In the end, it seemed like perhaps I was more of a paycheck than support. I felt that I was being taken advantage of, where it wasn't about my daughter anymore. My stepmother referred me to the Family Law Group. She referred about three or four lawyers, with the Family Law Group being the highest of all of them. The fact that they were dedicated to family law was very encouraging. Their entire team is focused on the same thing. Everyone was very polite. Very nice. It was a nice clean office. I felt like it was a very professional environment. They were very well-spoken and talked to you very personably. I didn't feel like I was being spoken to in legal terms or being talked down to. I felt very comfortable. Even going to an all-female firm, being a guy arguing against my ex-wife. There was the apprehension of, "Am I going to be judged as a guy." That was just an emotional reaction that didn't have any weight, but it was on my mind going in. Whether it was the receptionist at the front or the two lawyers I spoke to, at no point at all did I feel that way. It was very disarming and very calming. I think that emotion left as quickly as it came in. There was nothing there that made me feel uncomfortable. Right from the go, I felt I was at the right place for the right reasons. They told me not what I wanted to hear but what I needed to hear. I was validated on the things that were of core importance to me. But then there were things where maybe it was more of, "I want to hear a certain thing than I need." They were very clear, "You need to understand that these are some limitations. These are some precedents, and these are some realities." I was trying to emotionally check myself and make sure that I mentioned the important facts that I wanted to. It's easy to let your emotions run away with you and lose the point and get a little too emotional. When you've never gone through a legal system before, there's always that thought of, "Have I done the right thing, and am I approaching this the right way? Now I'm going to be under the microscope for all these things, and have I really been on the right path?" To hear the validation of, "Nope, you have the right mindset. You've done the right things. As long as we put things down as they were and as you put them, then everything should be fine." It was a huge weight off to realize I had done the right thing. But to also get that constructive criticism of, "These are the things you need to adhere to, right wrong or indifferent. This is how the system works, and this is what you have to make sure that you're taking into consideration." They were so absolutely clear and honest. Their level of honesty and feedback again told me I was at the right spot. They had an incredibly deep knowledge of the family legal system and knew exactly what could be done. They were also very clear on possible results and one judge versus another judge and interpretation. Their constructive criticism and absolute level of honesty were some of the best things. The Family Law Group resolved my case in my favor, a hundred percent of the way that it was proposed with no alteration. It was signed off on the very first day that courthouse services resumed on June 1st. I was pretty blown away. It was almost like stars aligned, and I sat there thinking, "Okay, I did the right thing. I went to the right people because this literally could not have gone better." They handled things as far as contacting my ex-wife so that I didn't have to. This way, emotions didn't enter the situation. They definitely took care of everything that was needed and more. For something that seemed like a slightly uphill shot, it was perfect. I got the benefit of multiple resources. They were all very well-educated, well-spoken, well-presented people. They were even humble enough to say, "I'm going to bounce it off to someone else." No one played the big shot. It was all a very focused effort. I felt that I was really getting the value of my dollar, not only from the person but from the team. I had a lot of questions, and they took the time. They didn't make me feel judged or inferior, or unintelligent. All around, as professional as you can get. Caitlin was very knowledgeable but very casual and very easy to talk to. She was able to pick out the important parts, focus on them and ask a few more questions if needed. She let me say what I needed to say. She was easy to talk to but was very good at what she was doing. Very professional. Honesty was at the forefront, but it was tempered with kindness. When talking with the staff, It felt like you were casually talking to a nice person. It seemed like they were happy with where they were. It didn't feel like I was talking to a disgruntled employee. It gave a good impression of company morale. If they said they were going to get back to me within a certain time, they got back to me. Whether they had the answer or not. They were spot on, which is important to me. I am punctual, if nothing else, so that was important. I think if you can't respect someone's time that it's difficult to respect much more. I set a very high precedent for that. My expectation is high, and they met it from the go. They would be my sole referral and worth every penny. I would be like, "Listen, they're more pricey than most, but it isn't fluff. You are getting exactly what you are paying for and more." The relief they provided was indescribable. When a weight lifts off you, at the time, you don't realize it was there because that's just the way it is. That's just the way you feel. You don't realize that it's there because it's your baseline. It's only after it legitimately leaves that you realize it was there, and this now is the way I'm supposed to feel. Not the way I did before. That wave of realization and the emotional relief and the psychological relief was like, "I'm taking a week off. I need to soak this moment in and absorb it." It was immeasurable. I went in with feelings of trepidation and being judged, and I felt sincerely congratulated on, "Wow! This is great! Your intention paid off." I felt like they were truly happy for me.

My case was successful, and I had zero trepidation during the process. It was a marvelous experience and I would 100% recommend them to anyone in a similar situation. I needed help with a separation agreement and property division to protect everybody involved. I knew it was better to get legal counsel when it comes to property and ending a relationship but I had some apprehensions. A co-worker of mine had dealt with the Family Law Group in the past and said they were wonderful. So I went in with the expectation of being treated well. My first impressions of Laura were very good. She‘s kind, intelligent, attentive, very forthcoming and very easy to deal with. She told me they were quite capable of handling my situation so I decided to move forward. She laid out a plan of what I could expect and there were no surprises. Throughout I felt like she was on my side. Any steps we took were my steps. She was there in support and didn’t try to coerce or anything. She did whatever she had to to get the best outcome. The best thing about dealing with the firm was their communication. Whether it was Laura or her team, there was always somebody in contact with me. Any questions I had were always answered promptly. They never kept me waiting at all. When I sent in an email, I usually received a response within minutes. They were always on time. I never had to wait for Laura or anybody. I liked the environment there. It was quite peaceful and relaxing. Their new building and parking was marvelous. The ergonomics were excellent from the entryway throughout. The building was clean, the water and coffee were bang on and the furniture was comfortable. It was an excellent experience.

They were great from start to finish. Everyone was very helpful and concerned at all times. You didn’t feel like you were just a number. When I‘d tell them what was going on, they seemed genuinely concerned and wanted to help. That was always nice. I always recommend the Family Law Group to anybody in the area that’s going through something similar. Go with a better lawyer, don’t cheap out. Brenda was very professional through and through. She was always to the point and seemed to really know what she was doing. She also seemed like she cared and didn’t agree with what my ex was trying to pull. The size of the firm was good for me. They seemed to have good resources. They were in good standing with the judge and they seemed well connected and well liked in the legal community. I had no issues whatsoever.

I came to the realization that my ex-wife was basically playing me and playing on my emotions. I was trying to handle things on my own to reduce costs and realized that wasn’t working. I needed to protect myself and started seeking a lawyer. I knew it was going to be expensive. Something I was trying to avoid, but it needed to be done. I went through Google and pulled up different lawyer profiles and read through them. When I contacted the Family Law Group, the receptionist was curious, very polite, professional and took care of business. Right to the point. She wasn’t wasting my time. At the office she confirmed who I was, brought me into the conference room and offered me a coffee. It was nice to go in and just have everything dealt with. They were very well organized. I met with Brenda and liked what she had to say. Her experience, her background and her knowledge made me feel like I had made the right choice. She wasn’t there to waste my time, she just got down to business. I felt like I had been heard. I was able to express myself without being interrupted. She let me say what I needed to say before giving advice. I felt like I was starting to make better choices. Before that I was running on emotions and was pretty upset about the breakup and the situation as a whole. I had a sense of relief that things were going to be done properly. It’s costly to get a lawyer. It was something I was hoping to avoid but I realized it was the right choice. The whole experience was good right from the initial consult to signing the agreement.

Laura and the Family Law Group were excellent! They provided the support I needed when I was in a rough spot. I had a positive experience and would definitely recommend them. I got the result I wanted and feel like I‘m in a safer space now. I needed a lawyer for custody and support because my kids are my life and wanted to make sure they were safe. When I first called them I was anxious and didn‘t know what to expect. They were cheerful and upbeat. They set things up quickly and made me feel comfortable. Regardless of the situation they were always professional and welcoming. I was nervous for my consultation. When I walked in the staff greeted me with a nice big smile. They were awesome. The atmosphere was comfortable, and it helped me calm down. After a few minutes with Laura I was completely at ease and realized it was a lot easier than I thought it would be. She was professional and to the point. I‘m a very busy person so I appreciated that. I didn’t have a lot of time to look into my situation so it was great that Laura explained next steps. She covered the desired outcome and also explained the worst-case scenario. It was good to know what might happen either way. It was a positive experience, and I got all the answers I needed so I retained her as soon as our meeting ended. Before going to court we would get together or she’d call to go over things. She was really good at explaining things beforehand which made it a smooth process. She was very helpful and stuck up for me when I really needed it. She understood my perspective and believed me. At no point did I feel like my case was being handled improperly.

The team at FLG were complete professionals, ensuring I was properly represented and keeping me advised at all times. I went to this firm after wasting several months elsewhere on an inexperienced, incompetent new lawyer, and am so grateful to now have my case properly managed and brought to a resolution. Brenda Barr is a true professional and expert in her field, and the entire team made me feel reassured and comfortable during a very challenging time in my life.

There was a comfort in dealing with Brenda and the Family Law Group. I felt like my affairs were being sorted. I felt like I was being managed and not the other way around. They are professionals, they‘re direct, no nonsense and they will absolutely get to the bottom of your case. They have the experience and I felt completely looked after. With Brenda there‘s no BS. She’s so direct, and I needed that in my situation. When emotions are high, you need somebody to cut through and say, “yes, but the court doesn’t really care about that, this is what they really care about.” That was the best thing because I could have spun for a long time in a cycle of uncertainty or the trauma of what was going on. Brenda got me to make decisions and move forward. She just knows her stuff. The whole team acted as a machine. I would email and the clerk would weigh in, the junior lawyer would comment and then Brenda would chime in about the whole thing. There was no wasted time or interaction. With the previous firm I‘d have a half hour call and not have a clear sense of where we’re going next. I never had that feeling with Brenda. We were always moving forward towards getting things completed. It’s a hard thing to go through and when someone is there for you in the way you need, and not just as a cheerleader, it’s a big deal. Someone who actually does the things you need done. I‘m very grateful for the very fact that she‘s a professional doing her industry and profession a great service. I don’t think all lawyers are great and I do feel there should be more lawyers like Brenda mentoring younger ones.

Throughout the whole process, Brenda has been a guardian angel. If I was off the path she told me. She always kept it real. I always knew that no matter what, I was in good hands. She was going to take care of me and always put her best foot forward. The impression I got from Brenda compared to other legal teams I've ever dealt with is this wasn't about making a profit, this was about helping a family.

Laura was very nice and intelligent. She made me feel comfortable so I wouldn't be worried at all. I felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. She answered all my questions immediately and was very professional. She helped me to not engage in all the drama and it really worked. I couldn't have found a better lawyer for myself, honestly. She made me feel like I actually had a voice when it came to my daughter. Laura's very calm and she's very kind-hearted. When I was getting a little hyped up about my situation she'd have a steady voice and would calm me right down. They immediately make you feel at home and comfortable so you don't feel like you're walking into some of the law offices that I have been in before. The kind that is cold and makes you feel like you're going into a courthouse right away. It was a very warm atmosphere and they made you feel comfortable. You just felt like you were able to talk to them so openly.

The Family Law Group was eager to help and very welcoming. They're prompt and I didn't have to wait 30 40 minutes for an appointment like I had to with my previous lawyer. We felt respected. With Brenda, it was very clear on what I had to do and what she had to do. It was a great relationship. I felt she got me and got what I wanted to do. She got that I cared for my child and wanted to get the best outcome possible for my child. I felt like we clicked. I knew she couldn't get personally involved but she did have some empathy for me and my situation while staying professional. The more I dealt with Brenda the more I felt at ease. She knew what she was doing. She's very honest and will tell you the good and the bad but she's always on your side.

In general, any time I've dealt with the Family Law Group they've been very friendly, polite and professional. They made me feel very comfortable being there. Caitlin was straightforward which I really liked. She didn't just tell you what you wanted to hear, she told you the truth. She knew what she was talking about. Very professional and friendly.

I found Brenda to be "no nonsense" yet friendly and professional. She keeps things on track and I never felt, even once, that she was prolonging things or creating delays that resulted me in paying anything extra. I don't begrudge a nickel that I paid her. She was timely in her replies (email was preferred by her and this way, everything is documented and she can reply to you, even if it is late in the evening. Her goal is to settle things quickly for you and to your benefit. She will also make sure you are "in line" which is the result of removing the emotions from the situation. I would highly recommend Brenda for a Divorce situation.

As a veteran dealing with PTSD, the Family Law Group was sympathetic and helpful towards my needs. They went over the top to help me out as far as I'm concerned. They were super friendly, explained the whole process and everything was up front. Through the whole thing, they were very supportive. I had great representation and a great law firm.

I was very impressed with the quality of care and services received with Brenda and her team. Brenda and staff were professional and warm. All verbal and email communication was very timely, with Brenda or her staff following up the same day or soon thereafter. This truly decreased anxiety during a stressful time! Prepared documents were thorough, organized, accurate and again timely. Brenda weighed my options carefully and thoroughly, clearly understanding the implications of my situation. She always confirmed that I understood the paperwork, my possible choices, what the legal process would look like and how we intended to proceed. Brenda and her staff were reliable, conscientious, responsive and thoughtful. I appreciate Brenda's integrity and honesty. My legal matter settled out of court, but I had full confidence in Brenda's skills and dedication that she would have represented my concerns exceedingly well in a litigative manner as well. I would eagerly suggest Brenda and team.

Brenda's professionalism and knowledge are what stood out to me. She's direct, to the point, thorough and no-nonsense when it comes to dealing with the other side. I had a lot of questions in the beginning and she took the time to answer them. She's a very smart woman and communicates very well. It was an amazing process and I learned a lot from it. They're very knowledgeable and professional. I had a very good experience with the Family Law Group.

Going through a divorce is never easy, especially when the other side is emotional and angry. My divorce dragged on for 3 years with 2 other lawyers. Each getting no where with such a unreasonable other side. Brenda took the time to understand every angle of the divorce, she was clear and made sure I understood everything that I needed to in order to make an informed decision. Other lawyers speak to you as if you have gone to law school and know all the legal jargon. If she had a hint that I didn't understand what she was saying she would stop and take the time to go over it again. She was so attentive and responsive to any concern that I had no matter how stupid the question. I believe what sets Brenda apart is three things. 1) Her ability to express empathy and understand un-rational thinking and redirect you to thinking rational and logical. 2) Being one amazing lawyer and knowing just about everything there is to know 3) Her staff with special attention to Barb Powell is incredible. All of them were so attentive, knowledgeable and caring. Barbs kind words and warmth through such a stressful time was really wonderful. If you are looking for a lawyer to handle any kind of family matter, you can have complete peace of mind you will be well taken care of.

Divorce is a very stressful thing and working with the Family Law Group makes the whole process less stressful. I can't describe how much better I feel going through everything with this firm. I'm relaxed and completely confident dealing with the Family Law Group Brenda's smart, she's kind, she's professional. She's everything I wanted in a lawyer. At the same time, she's personable. Appropriately so. She really respects her clients and understands the feelings people are having at the time. I felt reassured after meeting Brenda and looked forward to working with her. She's a very impressive woman. Extremely astute explains everything fully and is a pleasure to work with.

Caitlin was very pleasant. She was organized, able to answer any question I had and was able to answer them quickly. You can tell she's highly intelligent, very confident and well prepared. At the end of the day, I had to rely on her expertise and experience which I was very happy with. Caitlin and her assistant Julie are fantastic. Very professional and willing to take the time to answer my questions. They assured me that I was in good hands and they took care of things which I really liked. Caitlin was also very calming and reassuring.

I needed expert advice and an agreement drawn up that would be able to withstand any type of challenge in the future. I had a strategy in mind and wanted to make sure that it was legally solid. My initial consultation with Caitlin was quick and concise which I really appreciated. I felt that my opinions were listened to and taken into consideration throughout the process. She wasn't egotistical. She was there for me to determine the issues and figure out a way to resolve them. She was professional, straightforward and kept the perspective on what's important. I thought we worked quite well together. She was professional and prepared when I met her. She did her homework which is nice because I hate wasting my time. Things resolved to my expectations. It came out in a way that I'm very happy with to this day.

This is my second time working with Lisa and I appreciated that I didn't have to share my story again. She remembered who I was and everything around it. I trust Lisa and feel like she's not out to be a "lawyer" but to look after my best interest. She's not money hungry or all about her job. She's very personable and that's what kept me going back to her. She took the time to ask how I was doing and how my daughter was doing and that mattered. I felt confident that she knew what she was doing and that she understood me. She let me know what the different options were and how each option would roll out. She was very caring in that way because she knew that I had no idea what I was doing. Both she and her assistant Megan took the time to walk me through the steps. She's kind-hearted, very personable. Both Megan and Lisa were caring and comforting to me. They were very considerate and respectful during the whole process.

My first impression of Caitlin was that she was ready to get to work on my behalf. Caitlin exudes passion for her job though her tenacity and excellent knowledge base of the law. Caitlin listens and is approachable; I felt that all of my questions asked during my initial consultation were understood and answered in full. As a result, I felt very relieved and confident in making the decision to retain Caitlin as my lawyer. I believe she will guide me soundly throughout this messy period of my life.I would highly recommend Caitlin as a family law lawyer.

I liked Brenda's approach. She's very organized, very factual and she leverages her team very well. There's an efficient use of labour that appealed to me. She knows her area of the law very well and has lots of experience. I was quite confident in her skills. She's professional and makes you feel like you're in good hands. The staff has always been really professional and helpful as well. Brenda's not the cheapest lawyer in town but she'll make sure it's done right. She's very by-the-book and she's very thorough. So if you're looking for quick and cheap she's not the person but I think it's worth the investment to get it done properly. Most of the correspondences were by email which I really liked. It allowed me to fit the communications into my day. When you're a busy professional it works. She's quite responsive.

If you're looking for somebody to get things done and to maximize your time and your money. Someone who's a straight shooter, tells it like it is and is extremely knowledgeable than Caitlin's the lawyer for you. In terms of utilizing my time and money, she'd a 10+. She's very efficient, very knowledgeable and just got right down to it. She answered all my questions. We had really great interactions and I felt confident and glad that she was in my court. I can tell that she's looking out for my best interest. I feel she's very passionate about what she does. I truly believe that she loves her work and will do what's required. I would not hesitate at all recommending Caitlin to somebody looking for a good lawyer.

I had a law firm before the Family Law Group but they didn't do what I thought should be done. When I had my first meeting with Ashley I felt so comfortable with her because she was pretty much confirming my beliefs about the last firm. I had never been through this before, so I wasn't sure if I was being steered correctly or not, but she made sense and I like that she talked in layman terms. Ashley was very welcoming. She talked to me like I was human. She didn't talk down to me. I just needed somebody that understood what I was going through, what I needed to get out of my situation and to push me in the right direction. It was all positive and I felt comfortable talking to her. She put my mind at ease.

It became fairly obvious that we were really going to need a lawyer because the situation we were in is not a standard path for the family court system. We really found that Lisa was the first one who was willing to sit down and say you obviously sound like you're frightened and concerned. It was just really reassuring to have somebody say you're not being overly dramatic. I liked the fact that she was very methodical with what she was going through. She was really good at seeing the connections between the different events as well as seeing patterns in what we were talking about. She was confident without being arrogant, which was a balance we were really looking for. She's the right lawyer for us. Definitely. Everybody we've dealt with has been really professional and It's felt like they knew who we were and what we were in contact for even during periods where things had been relatively quiet. It seems like they really do pay attention to who the clients are. It was nice that it just didn't feel like you were generic client number 316. The receptionist has always been very friendly and very quick to at least acknowledge that you're there even if she's on the phone or dealing with something else. You get the feeling that there's a lot of things going on, but they're sort of tucked away so you don't feel like you're interrupting other people or you don't feel like you're being sort of jammed in with a bunch of other people who are probably there for stressful situations and don't particularly want to run into somebody they know from the gym or something.

The other lawyers that we were approaching were trying to fit our case as a square peg into a round hole. Some even thought It's much more likely that we're either making this up or we're not reflecting this correctly. Lisa listened to what we were saying and understood our situation and didn't try to put us in a category. It was really heartening to actually talk to somebody who listened. It was the first time we talked to somebody who didn't look at us like we were crazy. Megan and Liz are Lisa's support staff and they have been fantastic. They're always on the ball and they follow up. They've been really good. We're paying a lot of money for this service and the stakes are quite high. I expect an awful lot from them and they have always delivered. I couldn't think of a single thing that could have been done differently to improve it.

The service was thorough, knowledgeable and very very competent. They are quick and timely when responding to questions. I would get a response back the same day from the receptionist, the assistant or from the lawyer. This speaks to their integrity and character. It brings down high levels of anxiety quickly when you get responded to in a timely manner. Brenda is professional yet also warm. My previous case had been complicated so it required a lot of her time. She was direct and clear and took the time to ask questions to get a handle and a sense of things. She's competent which made me feel like I was in really good hands. There's a lot of kindness in that office. Not hand-holding but compassion.

I'm a retired cop so I've always dealt with lawyers and law firms all the time. As a veteran dealing with PTSD, the Family Law Group went out of their way to help me. I couldn't ask for a better law firm. Very warm and friendly and the staff is fantastic and professional. Lisa listened to what I had to say and she was upfront with her advice. Very realistic with the expectations, so it alleviated a lot of my concerns. She was passionate, and very articulate when she was going through the case, and speaking with the courts. Anytime I had any concerns or if something popped up, they would quickly phone me back or they would check up on me to see how I was doing. I didn't feel like I was just another client getting pushed through the system. They will definitely fight for the underdog. They did a fantastic job and I'm very happy with the outcome.

The Firm is excellent, very very good. They absolutely understand the law. I never had any doubts that they made incorrect decisions or didn't understand the law or anything like that. So I think from a knowledge perspective they were excellent. The firm is very efficient in process. Their processes are very clear and they don't change those processes. So, when they tell you this is what's going to happen in terms of paperwork and things like that, that's exactly what happens. They are very strong in that respect. Brenda knows her stuff. She does know how to explain things very clearly. She was very good at answering my questions and giving a bigger picture view of things which I think is important when you have no experience of that.

It's always been a cordial business-like environment at the Family Law Group. I've known Brenda for 20 years and she has definitely grown as a lawyer and has always been a good lawyer to me. I felt quite comfortable and that's why I went back to her. When I first met her I thought she was quite competent and quite attentive. Now having gone through a couple of cases and actually being in court with her, I know unequivocally that she's very confident and has a good reputation amongst the legal community. I've seen her in action and she is the type of lawyer I want fighting for me. She's aggressive and very forthright in court. A good aggression, fighting for your position. Brenda is very thorough and very honest. She'll tell me if what I'm saying is reasonable or not and I actually appreciate that. She always walks me through the process of what's going to happen, but not so much just the process but also why the process is the way that it is so that I could have a clear understanding of what we're doing. With her guidance, I feel pretty confident about the decisions I've made. She seemed to be very caring and very authentic in her approach. I didn't feel like I was just another client or another number or a paycheck. She was able to develop a personal sort of relationship that I felt was authentic. I felt very comfortable with her after our first meeting, so I think that's probably a testament to her ability to build relationships with clients. I've never had the feeling that she's kind of just going through the motions or something like that.

It was a little nerve-wracking because you're putting your fate in the hands of a complete stranger... It reassured me that I was being looked after and being taken care of. Lisa had a warm personality and seemed very committed to doing a good job. She was very engaged and she listened to what I was saying. She was good at looking at the details and understanding where I was coming from. She was realistic about the process and always upfront with me. Never over-promising. The law clerks were phenomenal. They were friendly and they seemed to be aware of what was going on with my file. The receptionist also knew who I was and expected me when I walked in the door. If I knew someone who was in a similar situation, I would have no qualms about referring the Family Law Group to them.

I got along great with Laura, I think the fit was perfect and she was super helpful with any questions I had big or small. They talk to you almost like a friend. They're super friendly, nice and open. They explain exactly how things work. The consultation was fairly easy. We went over what was going on, what I expected or hoped to get from the court service, what we needed to do etc.. She explained exactly what she can do, what she thinks I might be able to get and what might be an issue I like the fact that they do a lot of emails instead of having to go in, which is perfect for me being a single mom of three. they were really good at getting back to you as soon as possible. I think they did exactly what needed to be done. They were super helpful.

Brenda is incredibly hard working, professional, and a wealth of knowledge when it comes to family law. Definitely someone you want in your corner. She's upfront and honest, which could be perceived as "cold" if you're emotionally unstable or being unrealistic about the divorce process. Divorce isn't fun for anyone. Nor is it cheap. But trusting Brenda and her team with my family's separation took away a lot of stress and I'm more than pleased with the results.

We are very grateful to have had Brenda represent us. Brenda was always well prepared and extremely organized. She was factual and transparent every step of the way. She was very accessible throughout the entire process. The office staff was efficient and effective. She possessed intuitive investigative and probing skills. At the end of the day my brother was awarded custody of my nephew. We were continually told that for my brother to gain custody of his son that would be next to impossible. Brenda was very professional and came highly recommended to us. We will continue to recommend going forward. Thank you Brenda for all you have done!

Custody is always emotional for the family and as much as we tried to navigate through the legal system and file motions, documents, etc., the challenge was around navigating through the court itself and bringing evidence before the judge in the pre-trial situations. In this case Brenda thought outside the box with options we had not considered and was able to help us set aside the emotion of the situation. She was looking out for our family and truly what was in the best interest of the child involved. We could not have accomplished the same outcome without her. Our family is grateful for Brenda and her staff!!

No one aspires to become divorced. But when we’re thrown into the legal process, it’s a brutal experience, emotionally and financially. I interviewed several firms before choosing The Family Law Group and couldn’t have made a better decision. Brenda Barr provided me with strategic legal advice and empathetic support in a down to earth manner. Lauren Froggett was responsive to my questions and ensured the mountain of paperwork was completed accurately and on time. Both of them graciously listened to me as I vented about the process then gracefully steered me back on track. Having experts in family law on your side is key to achieving a positive result and maintaining your sanity. If you are looking for a professional team who will provide you with advice, service and support in the most effective, efficient and economical manner, I highly recommend The Family Law Group.

I was recommended to Matthew by a friend. The first time I met with him he made me feel very comfortable. He was really good at explaining the process and came across as very knowledgeable. The firm is very productive, and everyone seems to know their role. I was in communication with about four people - all were friendly, overall attentive, and detail-oriented. I was really impressed with Matthew’s presentation to the judge. He was so prepared. The documentation that he prepared for the judge was very detailed. The judge actually commented on it three times throughout the proceeding, saying it was very detailed and well put together. They did a lot of research and made sure they were well prepared for the court date. I was blown away by the way that he presented my case to the judge. I liked what the Family Law Group presented on their website. They seemed to have the right style. They weren’t all about going to court and animosity. They’re really about doing it in a friendly manner. That was my perception when I first started to look into them and I feel that I got that throughout my dealings with them.

Brenda and her staff were always there for me and offered advice and direction out of a genuine concern for my situation, which I don't think the average solicitor would do. Very friendly and approachable. The combination that they seemed to genuinely care about me and they were experienced in the legal technical side meant that they could guide me through the complexity of the court process. They're approachable and know what they're talking about. Issues around money were secondary. Determining thatmy girls were safe was Brenda’s irst priority.

Caitlin was fantastic throughout the entire legal process. She allowed me to feel comfortable and confident through such an uncomfortable situation. Her knowledge of Family Law was evident in her ability to answer every question accurately and honestly (which I appreciated most). I will continue to recommend Caitlin with confidence that she will assist others as she did for my family.

It was a really bad divorce and Matt continually, through 3 years, provided sound advice. He was upfront, would present things with a cost perspective as well. It helped determine which battles I really wanted to pick. He's very reliable, always got back to me. There were times that I thought things were upsetting, like getting upsetting letters, and I could contact him at the end of the day and even at night. The process was very emotional, and I trusted him implicitly. Matt came recommended to me from another lawyer I work with. What I appreciated about him was that it was very clear to me that Matt knows the law, he is very conscientious of following process and timelines. He was conscientious that our brief or motion met the time requirements and he has such a good understanding of the law and can articulate that to me as a lay person. I work with clients who have brain injuries - my client who saw Matt said he was very good at conveying information in a way that was understandable. He never made promises - he would say here's what case law says, here's what's happened in the past. He was always very objective about telling me the possibilities and what he had no control over, as hard as it was sometimes. I think the firm's philosophy, approach and how they conducted their business was very appealing to me. I actually just referred a client, and she went and hired them.

I have been a client at Barr Family Law for almost 8 years. My first experience with the Family Court system, and how it worked, was quite overwhelming. Brenda and her staff were tireless in their efforts to educate me and help me to navigate the process of separation and divorce. During a time when I really needed an advocate for me and my family, Brenda and her office could not have done a better job. Communication between myself, Brenda's office and the Courts was seamless. I felt well-informed and able to make good decisions. I also felt that what was important to me as a client, was also important to Brenda. Brenda is diligent as a lawyer, and I felt confident in deferring to her, those issues I was unsure about. Separation and divorce was a difficult experience, but it was easier having the representation of the Barr Family Law office. I still occasionally communicate with the office 8 years later and I continue to be grateful for their services.

I had a previous lawyer who was not doing the job that I had hired them to do. A friend had recommended me to Brenda and after my first meeting with her, I knew she was one who would care for my case and walk me through the process. Brenda is an incredible person and as a lawyer she thought of myself and my daughter for our future and she also knew how tough it can be when going through the legal process of a divorce, as so many emotions can arise. Her office staff was outstanding! Phone calls were returned promptly and emails were always answered! Brenda had a gift of communication as she worked with my ex-husband's lawyer and we were able to come to an agreement without having to go to court. I have recommended her to my friends and I have also been able to call her about legal questions that may still come up. She is knowledgeable, intelligent and insightful about the law and cares for each and every client.

Brenda Barr was the third family law lawyer that I had hired to deal with my divorce and family custody and access related issues. I was referred to her by my second lawyer who indicated that he could not help me any further with circumstances that I was dealing with. Brenda, through her professionalism and extensive experience proved to be the right woman for the job. After meeting her for the first time, it was apparent that she was sensitive to issues related to the children, and was a true children’s advocate. She had the ability to handle a situation that was very stressful for me with great ease. With Brenda, I finally felt like there was someone in my corner. She provided me with articles and books that I could also read in order to guide the children through these difficult times. She had a wonderful ability to reassure me with her honest approach and extensive experience. Her staff provided a very professional, relaxed and inviting environment. Emails and any other communications were handled, by both Brenda and her staff, in an efficient and prompt manner. Brenda was quick to respond to any questions I had personally, as if I were her only client. Brenda allowed for my success with my case. She was very organized, well-spoken and delivered my case in a logical and coherent manner when we went to court. I am very grateful for her expertise and proficiency. I felt that she understood what I needed and wanted and expedited that to the best of her ability. I have referred numerous people to Brenda since my interactions with her. I have no hesitation recommending her on many levels and have confidence that she will provide the best experience for whatever people’s needs many be in this area of law. I am grateful for the wonderful job she did for me!

I have dealt with Barr Family Law Firm twice over the past several years. I am very pleased with the service provided and the professionalism at which everyone in the office works to. My case involved some very complex issues as corporate assets had to be considered. This involved meetings and communication with several other firms and accountants. These transactions occurred in a very civil and seamless manner, thanks to Brenda's coordination. I am pleased to have this opportunity to provide my comments and experiences at Barr Family Law and would not hesitate to refer anyone to use Barr Family Law Firms services.

I first met Brenda when I was 15yrs old, she represented me then in a complex case regarding custody of myself, I remember trusting her immerdiately, she made me feel taken care of. It only seemed natural that when I had to fight for custody myself some years later, for my son that she be the person to represent me. Once again, she took care of me and welocmed me, she always had my sons interest at heart and in mind. She continues to be the person I go to when seking any kind of fami8ly law advice as I know she will give me an honest and knowledgeable answer.

I was very satisfied in my decision to hire Brenda and her team. They represented and advised me through a very difficult divorce. In addition to being highly respected in the London Legal community for family law, I found Brenda's masters degree in Social Work made her firm the best fit to argue my case. Her team of lawyers and support staff understood Family Law is not just about the law it is about families. Brenda's team put together a case with very compelling arguments for my rights as the father in a long-term relationship. In the end I won a settlement that was larger than I ever thought possible.

2 years ago, I was recommeded to see Brenda Barr concerning my separation and divorce by the secretary of a very reputable laywer in London. In a phone conversation, that included a brief description of my situation, the secretary told me, "you should see Brenda Barr." "She is the best" "If I needed someone to represent me, it would be her." "She will fight for you." The secretary's words were said with such resonance and conviction that I immediately called Brenda Barr's office after speaking with her. From the moment I called Brenda's office and spoke with Brenda's secretary I felt important. I retained Brenda's services directly following the consultation. I am so thankful for the care and attention I received from Brenda and from her associate, Lauren Froggart. Brenda's care and attention to my case greatly exceeded the counsel I was given by the previous lawyer I consulted. Brenda thinks and acts not only for the individual who is her client, but also for the individual and his or her family. Brenda recommeded books as well as counselling to help our family through the difficult journey of separation and divorce. Following my divorce, when I ceased being Brenda's client, Brenda encouraged me to call or send her an e mail if ever I needed an answer to a question. I consulted with Brenda on more than a few occasions and each time, she was quick to respond. I am so thankful for the guidance and reassurance she provided in her answers. I know that Brenda is someone I can go back to if ever I need clarification. Brenda is honest, and she is an expert in her field. It is a true blessing to have been her client.
